i find it works better and gives the original "cherry bomb" feel is you get really fine saw dust and mix it with a strong wood glue and then dip the ball in it, then paint it red. it gives a solid and strong coating that always gies me a loud boom.

I tried that ping pong ball idea and it did not work, the fuse burnt until it hit the plastic of the ping pong ball and did not even touch the powder.

fuse has to be halfway in the device, and shouldnt be stiffled when it hits the ping pong ball

too much tape will make the fuse do that too, right?

you have to pack the powder real tight in the ping pong ball too, right.I do that with m-80s that i make with and i don't have that problem and i guess my mistake was not packing the powder.
