m-1000 have flash powder in them most likely(the light greyish powder), i would recommend using flash powder it will create a better bang and black powder can be tricky you need a good case that won't get a hole in it when the fuse is burned(meaning internal electrical ignition)

Alright thanks for the info, i really apreciate it. I was wondering if you, or anyone could post me some advice on safety when making the device you mentioned. I need to know about all aspects, as until i am very confident i will not somehow blow myself up, i shall not attempt it. I need to know about everything from static to friction, and all measures necessary to insure saftey and success.

If there is already a thread or website out there explaining this in good detail, then please let me know. I have done a lot of looking up in the last two days, and have yet to find anything that goes into much detail about safety when making the mentioned devices.

Thanks everyone once again.

there was a sticky on it not sure if it is still around but anyways, always take EVER single precaution when making explosives, DON'T RUSH THINGS take your time, test materials sensitivity to shock if it is unknown to you(hammer a small amount on a flat hard surface is a good shock test) friction test it by placing it on a flat hard surface and pulling a hammer through it creating friction. always do the above tests in small amounts!!! never light any homemade devices in your hands always place on ground and light. there is no such thing as a safe explosive. if you don't know about it don't fuck with it. oh and the device mentioned above, make a small version first until you get to know how it works better, then increase the size of it. well i think i covered everything if i missed anything let me know

Anti static spray is your best friend when making a reasonable amount of flash powder, although I've personally never seen it set off with static shock, I know it can happen, so if you're playing with a big amount of flash, spray your work area down with anti static spray first.
