this is where you falsely assume i know a majority of your educated pyro lexicon haha....what would a "555" be? and what would a firstfire be? is a firstfire just anything that falls under the category of what gets ignited by the electricity, or is it a mixture of some sort?

should i just fuck the steel wool and find a "firstfire" thats more effective? cause i dont know if the steel wool and wires and such would fit into a confined space such as a hole on a casing

I may be wrong, but I believe he is talking about a 555 integrated circuit (named for the 555 chip in the circuit). From my understanding of electronics (very basic), you can make a circuit to set off a indicator after a certain amount of time (the indicator is just a example, in explosives I am pretty sure that it would just be a electrical charge to a blasting cap).

Yeah, a 555 is a simple programmable timer IC.

And a 'firstfire' is a small amount of a more sensitive compound which burns hot enough to ignite your main charge.

Indeed. And yeah, i bet. Thats why i'm taking it; because basically i only know what i can make up and test electricity wise, at least for now. And i have a place near me where i can get all sorts of random shit such as resistors, capacitors, photosensors, switches, led indicators, wire and solder....its pretty sweet. So with a trip there after my electronics class i shouldn't need to be askin ya too many questions. That'l be in like a few months though, so i guess i will have to be patient untill then.
