I dont know if it would be considered a mushroom cloud, but it does look sorta like one. All you do is get one of those plastic toothpick containers and fill it with black powder, and put the lid back on with a hole for the wick. I tryed this but with bb's because I was trying to make a grenade, but the bb's did nothing, but it did blow off the bottom and top of the container with a small ball of fire

And dont tell me I was supposed to seperate the bbs from the black powder, because I did, and it still didnt shoot any bb's

For a relatively low shrapnel explosion, I suggest pouring it into an empty
35mm film cannister. Poke a hole in the plastic lid for a fuse. These
goodies make an explosion audible a mile away easily.
1) Poke the hole before putting the flash powder into the cannister.
2) Don't get any powder on the lip of the cannister.
3) Only use a very small quantity and work your way up to the desired
result.
4) Do not pack the powder, it works best loose.
5) Do not grind or rub the mixture - it is friction sensitive.
6) Use a long fuse.

Take a large fire cracker such as an M98 and open it up. Fill it about 1/4 of the way with BP/GP and hot glue it all into place. Then stick a large slingshot BB into it glueing it into place. Glue top shut and insert wick in process. Glue piece of ducktape around firecracker and cover in small BBs/pellets. Light, set on ground/throw/whatever and watch. You get shot with BBs/pellets and you see a big ass halo. Pointless yes, but whatever.

Yeah, I tried it today it wasnt exactly like I thought it was, but it was still pretty cool. Next time I want to get like a whole fucking shitload of it and fill like a whole bucket and try it
