This is about a GIANT bomb, me and my friends once made, and detonated at an empty parking lot in the middle of nowhere. We nicknamed it "Craterer", because of the crater it made. This are the sketches of our next project, the "Craterer Revisited". Enjoy.











WARNING: Me and my friends are to be considered professional pyrotechnicians, and we insist that you do not try to reproduce such a device as shown above, unless you are an experienced pyrotechnician. Furthermore, I recommend that you use a remote detonator, and keep a distance of at least 500 meter (believe me, you'll still see the blast). Last but not least, I suggest using ear protection, when we set off the "Craterer", it was heard in a range of 5 kilometer (!!!). There weren't much troubles with the cops, because we managed to get a explosive-license for that day. If you try to reproduce this, be sure to also ask a licence (bombs this heavy could easily be a reason to get sent to jail for a very long time).[/img]

lololol what sets of the ANFO? the black powder? that will never ever work. you need a powerful primary explosive to set of ammonium nitrate.

@firetime27: You're right, the primer in the detonator sets off the ANFO, the blackpowder is just in to sorta "launch" the ANFO.

why the shrapnel? Wont aid the explosion just hurt things and endanger your life use the space for more explosive

We threw the shrapnel in so that we would see sort of a "corona" of shrapnel, so that we could figure out how powerful the explosion was. You can replace the shrapnel by anything you like.

this is brilliant, and i will probably wind up getting arrested for terrorism when i try to make it this summer....and my friend already has almost everything i would need (except pager and bp, but i can get both fairly easily)
