Get an ice bath going in a five gallon bucket.
In a 2000 mL beaker pour 1900 mL of bleach and place in the ice bath and cool to about 0*C.
Add 95mL of acetone. And stir it in don't let the temp exceed 50*C.
Let the chloroform settle to the bottom and collect it and discard the rest of the liquid. Yield is crappy but deal with it your chems are sheap as hell.
Distill the chloroform if you want a decent product.

No in the US bleach consists mainly of NaOCl.
Which also works when making chloroform except the yield is terrible. about 25 mL per every 2 liters of reagents.
I find it very difficult to find Ca(OCl)2. They don't ever sell it in pool stores.

Awsome, but the thing about this shit if you breath it in the effects will be dizziness, fatigue, and headaches. Make it often and your liver and kidneys will fail. You would have to make it often for that to happen that is. None the less, good post Firetime27 like always.
