Which the aluminum tape or the register tape core? I'll assume aluminum tape considering you've been in this thread since I mentioned the cores earlier.

I've just been ram rodding a wad of tissue in there and then dropping some hot glue inside and on the outer surface, then I place a bit of the aluminum tape over the end and cut it out so it folds neatly over the end...into a kinda union jack shape

\|/
/|\

then another layer around the cylinder, then another bit of the aluminum tape/union jack thing..

I've only done two layers of aluminum tape thick...it's pretty resilient so making them too thick would, I assume, just cause the wadding to blow or it would just fly away like a rocket. (this happened to one I made too small to hold a decent charge of FP)

So just for random little "kicks and giggles" a medicine container would work pretty well?

Forgive me if I missed the post, but has anyone talked about casing sizes that seem close to perfect? By perfect, I mean, while using 70/30 FP, is there a widely favored shell size, like 1"OD, 1/8" wall, 2.5 inches long (spiral, what I have now), or is that too big (wasting powder)? It seems that the harder I look, the more confusing it gets...I've held M-80's that seem to have lots of airspace, like half full, but I've also heard that the more you tamp, the better the boom.
Is there a sticky somewhere that can help answer this? Also, is there a certain black powder (retail) that can make a pretty good boom in the above casing?
Thanks.
P.S. Please guys, I understand there is no such thing as a "perfect cracker", and it will probably take a lot of trial & error, so tell me to "Piss up a rope" if this request appears "lazy"

With the plastic roll for the coupons and such that someone posted before,You could probably put the material inside of the roll itself.(duh) Then for a more dangerous version put ball bearings in the little notches that circle around the material.(Just a idea)

Question about paper tubes. What's the best way to plug them? I have paper end plugs, should scoring and gluing do the trick? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
