And yea leave the kid alone even if he could get ahold of it without a detonator he is stuck again. C4 cant explode without it. If you just light it on fire its like burning playdoh or something.

And i wouldnt mold C4 if i had it that mixes in impurities which weakens it.

And Papasmurf about the small increments as an example about 8-10 pounds is used to demolish around an 8 inch square solid steel beam. Which is slightly over kill but its more thought of as insurance.

C4 is unique bucause it can morph like playdough into practicy any shape or form with is useful to fit into small cracks/crevisises(sp?). not to blow up an aparment building...

Wrong, actually. Whilst yes it canbe moulded, squeezing it into cracks and the suchlike is a terrible idea - It disrupts the explosive density, which means the shockwave doesn't propogate as easily, and introduces dirt and air bubbles and other contaminants.

All around, giving you a much smaller effect then if you'd just packed it around the beam as a ribbon charge.

dont you just love all the dumbfucks on this site that have no idea of the explosive power of an explosive such as c4? man, some of the stuff i have seen on this site is just total bullshit, successful only in the imagination of some of the posters... Seems hollywood has truly made people believe that they can do anything with anything.

I myself think that straight up RDX/Cyclonite/Hexagon/T4 is better than C4, while it's not plasticised it's a great high explosive, great RE factor and Brisance. Plus i'd have to say it's the easiest one to make in your home/shed/garage of all explosives, excepting maybe an ANFO solution.
I've heard that it's possible to plasticise RDX (hey, i'm British so that's what i'l call it) with mineral oil and lecithin but i've never tried it or know how to.

And also, rather than going commercial anyone know if it'd be possible to detonate RDX/Composition C-1 with Mercury Fulminate in a home made det..?
