listen, thats not the best way to make it, now if you wanna blow up the entire mailbox....

use a c02 cartr idge , make sure its empty, put a nail at the top of it, and poke it down to make the hole bigger, then get some goooood flash powder, and fill it up about 3/5ths or so of the way, then put in some bb's and shake it up just a tad to mix em, now make sure its about 4/5's of the way filled up, and fuse it and put some tape over it or something so your powder and stuff isnt leakin out everywhere.

Thatll take off a good upper body if you arent careful, and even worse,

But even so; putting the BBs IN the canister will just pulverize them and weaken your device. Shrapnel is bad! But when it needs to be used (e.g underground revolutionary ring defending your country from communist invasion) always use a decent volume; outside the device and a good projectile. Nails, for eample, have poor aerodynamics and lose velocity quickly, lessening effective range. 'Flak' e.g sawing plate groves into your casing is far more effective.

how bout mixing the flashing powder with just good ol' gun powder?

Well, you won't be able to *find* gunpowder except at an antique gun shop (which are kinda rare).
