Here is the deal, i want to start a thread purely for recipe shearing. Awesome only means no fucking pussy shit (draino bombs, dry ice, fire crackers, smoke bombs, any thing of the sort). This thread is for the loud firey and most of all DESTRUCTIVE formulas! only shit that has decent power behind it and can do some damage.

liquid nitrous oxide is easy to make and is a perfect oxidizer for a pipe bomb if you do it write!

to start you need to make the nitrous. for this you need to get your hands on ammonium nitrate (common fertilizer but it can be tricky to obtain seeing as it alone is used in blasting compound ("amfo" or ammonium nitrate and diesel/yes it is that easy). once you have the nitrate simply heat it in a Pyrex jar and bubble the resulting gas in to an upside down jar filed with water and set in a catch tube also partly filled with water.
There you have it nitrous oxide gas, a great high if inhaled, and an even better bang if you are clever enough to get it in to a casing with virtually anything that burns as a fuel!

ps. it works best if you can compress the nitrous in to the casing after it is sealed with the fuel that is why i suggest it for a pipe bomb.

thanks but have you tried it yet? you likely are more experienced with explosives than i am and i would never doubt that, but have you ever used nitrous?

Nitrous is not a practical possibility for explosives. It can be good for binary rocket propellants, in which case you just buy a tank. The method you described will give you some nitrous oxide, and a lot of assorted nitric oxides.

What would be a practical oxidizer for a pipe bomb or such?

that nitrous does make a mighty fine hybrid rocket, i tried to make one with a make shift black powder war head but it didn't work very well hard to make it ignite before the shell is smashed and the powder confinement comprised.

any suggestions on a possible solution? maybe a different explosive or dett method ect.


ps. an other oxidizer i have used in pipe bombs is just ammonium nitrate on its own, potassium nitrate works to but not quite as well.

btw ghost, i know that my synthesis of nitrous isn't perfect but i cant acquire let alone afford a tank of nitrous, therefor i make my own. And i also enjoy and take pride in preparing my own chemicals. which is in my situation also necessary for any thing you cant get at walmart.
