is there a way to dissolve the Al in HCl and recover the AL by preciptating the Al out in a powder form? i have large quantities of Al and HCl but havnt any powder.

every reaction can be reversed...as to how, i dont know.......i'd look it up in my chem book that i had this year, but i dont have it any more, as the year ended......i need to go buy one.....

If you add magnesium, the next element to the left (and more reactive) on the periodic table the magnesium will be dissolved and the aluminum will precipitate out. After filtering out the aluminum you can get your magnesium back (conveniently atomized) by adding beryllium, if I recall. Beryllium's pretty useless you're into alloying springs or something, so you may as well just leave your beryllium dissolved and dispose of the whole mess afterwards.
