Think about all of the people on the site that are active, and how many of them prefer metal over anything, especially rap. I admit, I like some rap occasionally, but I prefer metal. It's more brutal than rap is, so I think it would kick rap's ass any day.

but it's hard for me to find any originality in rap music...the only thing I can really respect and like in rap is the tune & beat...which if that's the only thing rap is good for...I'll just listen to techno!

Money
Cars
Clothes
Girls
Gangbanging (being gangster in generaly)
Sex (which fits in with girls, probably)
Drugs

RARELY will you find any rap that strays away from those subjects...

I also find myself listening to rap from time to time, but it's mostly because I like the beat; I could care less what the people in the song are saying, and most of the time it's just the same thing repeated over and over. Rap for the most part has become stereotypical in that it's all the same, just as clyde stated.
