I know a way to get lots of free games. i'm sure 90% of you already know this but it's bound to help some people.
Download an "emulator" which is basically a virtual console. you can get one from emulator-zone.com or some other similiar website. You'll likely want to go through any "readme" files since some of them can be a pain to work.
Next You'll need to dowload some ROMs for games. I like using Coolrom.com but there's countless sites that give out ROMs. Some ROMs are illegal (like mario games) and will be harder to find though. Then you just open your dowloaded ROM in your emulator and start playing.
This is mostly for older console games though. So you won't be able to dowload xbox 360 games or anything like that. Some games are almost impossible to get otherwise, like earthbound for example, so it's nice to have.

I'm not even sure how it works, I'd have to read the "README" file (Maybe that's why it's called a README file). =P

well i don't know about your emulator, but with mine i just right click and select "open with" on whatever ROM i wanna play, then i just find the emulator program an it figures itself out. other than that i just know how to save and hit the reset button lol.

I was planning on getting an N64 (with an expansion pack), and that costs about $35 around here. so, why not just get it all for free? :D

I'm not really sure this belongs in hacking, but then again, emulation, I guess if it's exported from a console, then, in some ways, sure, it works.
Really though, once you download an emulator and some games, it shouldn't be to hard to figure out how to run it. In a lot of cases, it's just drag and drop, unless you're using the znesx, I think...

buying one is easy... but why buy one when you can download it on your computer and play it anytime you want. you can save the emulator on a jump drive and take it anywhere with you, and instead of going around stores looking for used games that may be f*ed up you can just keep your hard drive safe and search online :)
emulators are awesome! love zsnes, had it for like 5 years now and still finding new games to play on it... since then i have also downloaded other emulators as well. nice little flash back of childhood days though....:D

lol, none if this is hard to find. Emuparadise.org - N64, Playstation, Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, Arcade, Nes, MAME... (http://www.emuparadise.org) has pretty much every game out there thats in ROM form (actually, they have EVERY GBA game ever made. no joke.) the only things they dont have are PS2/Gamecube/XBOX emulators. the problem with PS2 emulators etc. is that they take so much work to run, and theres a 90% chance that not even the BIOS will run well for you because you literally need a top of the line computer to not lag like hell. And on top of that, configuration is a pain in the ass -.-;; the only good thing to come out of the newer systems emulators is that ISOs aren't hard to find. i got persona 3 FES, but it took like a week to download (damn people and their.. non seeding..ness..)
ps- you can easily find all of this with google >.>

Personally, I just run Emulators off of my PSP, considering you can do that to most systems, NES, SNES, N64 (some games won't work due to obvious reasons), PSX, GB, GBA, etc. Anything from the 64-bit era and below has as emulator for the PSP.

ahhh...I love all the older game systems. (Atari/NES/SNES/N64) They bring back memories. I could play the actual systems since I own all of them...but the tv is a piece of shit...

There's no Gamecube emulators for windows or mac etc. that are both released and working.

I've never tried that personally, but apparently you have to downgrade your PsP version to one specific version and that's the only one it will work on. (from what I've heard anyways), and one of the GTA games for PsP has that exact version.
