anyone here like black metal? and anyone know anything about whats going on with gorgoroth? i heard gahl and king ov hell got the name and also that they will be using hellhammer(dimmuborgir and mayhem drummer) im not sure about guitar though.

Dude I love black metal. Behemoth, CoF, Dimmu, Entombed, Eternal tears of sorrow, Graveworm, Skyfire...it's all good shit. I'll have to get some gorgoroth. I know of them, but the name didnt cross my mind when downloading.

there really good. right now there having some troubles though. the vocalist and bassist beleive that the guitarist isnt contributin to the band so they kicked him out. behemoth and dimmu are two of my favorite bands.

I'm into a few black metal bands. Dimmu Borgir and Gorgoroth are my two favorite. I'm more into the death metal and grindcore genre of metal.

yeah its hard to find really talanted black metal bands anymore. i usually prefer listening to older bands that aren't around anymore like emperor and burzum. mayhem was awesome too. and everyone should check out windir. they are way awesome

Varg Vikernes[1] IPA: [[Help:IPA|[varg 'vi:keɳes]]], born Kristian Vikernes on February 11, 1973, outside of Bergen, Norway, is a black metal musician and writer. Known during the early days of Norwegian black metal by the stage name Count Grishnackh (a reference to an Orc chieftain in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings), Vikernes conceived the one-man music project Burzum, and later became a prominent voice for the heathen Odalist ideology. In a documentary on heavy metal, he was described as "the most notorious metal musician of all time."[2]

Vikernes is currently serving a 21 year sentence for the 1993 murder of Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth of Mayhem as well for the burning of three stave churches in Norway. He is seeking parole in April 2008 after having been denied in 2006.

yeah i really beleive he shouldn't be in jail. when he killed euronymous it was out of self defense.

it was, but even he admits that he went over the legal definition of self defense when he stabbed the guy through the head when he really no longer needed to defend himself (but by doing so he was preventing further retailition which probably would have taken place, but the law frowns upon "a premptive strike" as i think he put it). he didn't mind going to prison, but it shouldn't have been for as long ( he got more than the max sentence for that crime which is bullshit, and the charges about the church burnings shouldn't have stood up in court). he would probably have a good chance at parole if he didn't try to escape already...

That's great that you mentioned Arsis, though, one of my all time favorite bands, though not many people listen anymore.

Once I've thought about it, I'm actually kind of glad BM is becoming an even smaller genre, hopefully this will keep things that much more trve 'n kvlt.

Not a huge Black Metal fan but I used to be in a Black Metal band. Only ever made 2 songs and they were shit.

Like 99prosent of black metal is shitty ass shit for shitty ass snot-nose kids. But then there`s some really good stuff like: Ildjarn, old man Varg, Mayhem, Bone Awl and everything that Mikko Aspa makes.
Elitism is cool, but not when it gets gay as in Behemoth. Everything that has the "satanism" thing going on is lame. Mostly cause the shock value is gone and snot nose kids are all over it. And it`s really made for them too. Wearing those batman coats and their panda make-ups. Feel like punching them right in the face everytime i see these people.

well i left out most of the shittier bands that sound like the afore mentioned ones...
the black metal bands i mentioned are the only ones i really listen too because they are all somewhat original (not all but most) or were the pioneering bands that others rip off

everything remotely successful gets ripped off anyways, which is kinda odd cause there's only a few blackmetalish bands even really making money with largescale success....like dimmu borgir and cradle of filth (more gothish than bm in my opinion but the sad kids wearing bondage clothes seem to dig them....whatever)
