Since when are "The Misfits" goth? The misfits are punk not goth! Really true and good gothic music comes from Europe not the United States! The answer by the way is yes I love gothic music! True gothic music is more influenced by classical music and heavy metal NOT punk!

where did you come from? Goth evolved from punk, look it up.
and ask an old school goth if they listened to the misfits, they'll definatly say they did, I mean the 80s goths.

I think you're thinkng of those metal head goths, with all those chains and shit.
The actual goth style came from punk, seriously check out actual goth bands, the cure, bauhaus, you'll see its more punk then metal.
the whole metal goth things came around a while after goth first hit the scene.

punk as a movement/ music style was established before metal. Bands like Sabbath were around before punk but the whole metal music thing really didn't start to take off until about the middle of when the punk movement was happening. idk, goth music is such a fucked up mix of punk, metal and even techno i'm not sure why we're trying to dissect it. but ya the whole 80s hairband metal thing was going on while the punk/goth/newwave shit started. so super is right.

There's no such thing as "gothic" music.
But Wednsday13's a great band.
Why would you consider The Misfits "gothic"?? 0.o

DONT FUCKING QUESTION ME CUNT.
I already went over this with blindskater. there is a genre called Goth.
And I consider them Goth because they are Horror Punk, also many Goth Rock bands were influenced by The Misfits.

Oh mang, this could get complicated.....I don't think there is a music genre called "goth", if you wanted to get stereotypical, then yes, people who claim to be goth do listen to certain types of music, I guess you could call....Goth music. Like, if you want to get real specific.....
Bands like Murderdolls, Wednesday 13 are considered Horrorcore.....
But enough of these polotics, to what the original post asked. AYE I listen to that shit haha. I'll probably be made fun of and spit on but i'm suprised no one has mentioned Mr. Manson yet.........How aboot......Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth? Gorgoroth, Anyone?

hence the debate and the weird ass clssifications.gorgoroth, dimmu borgir and cradle of filth are considered black metal, but "goth" people listen to such things sometimes. manson used to be metal but everyone seems to refer to him as "the faggy goth dude now" ( i watched a youtube clip of him in the 90s at ozzfest though and he didn't look the least bit faggy, just fucking scary ). trying to put music into exact classifications and sub genres is just fucking dumb and a pain in the ass to even attempt.
