View Full Version : What does music do to you?

Everyone has different reactions to different songs. Heavy metal might make you angry, rap might get you in the partying mood, you listen to country because you're upset, and techno for when you just want to go crazy with some glowsticks.
So what does music do to you?

I get into rap, the rhythm makes me feel unstoppable. I always listen to snoop, dre, and em whenever i play basketball. Scream-o/heavy metal just makes me feel like a bad ass and i listen to it when im pissed(which is most of the time). Country makes me want to suck a big floppy dick. Hence why i hate it. Techno is pretty nuts just to dance to. And i listen to classic rock when im blazed, Zeppelin, Floyd, the Who, etc. Raps good while high and so is heavy metal. I like Dimmu Borgir and Job For a Cowboy when high.
But music makes me *Euphoric*

Heavy metal/rock usually calms me down, or pumps me up (depending on my mood). Rap gets me in a partying mood. And I'm not a fan of much else.

I like rock as I can listen to it at any time because there are many different kinds of it. I hate rap, it makes me feel stupid... Techno makes me feel like smoking weed and partying until tomorrow.

What music does to me?
I listen to anything with a message. Something that actually means something more than money cars or material. Love music to me is...i cant understand it. Becuz how am i supposed to listen to feelings i dont undertsand? And rap. Why would i want to listen to rappers talk about all the money bitches cars and shit when i dont have any of those things? Why would i want to listen to what they have? Rock is just anger and confusion. Some rock carries messages that are deep and complex but everything death only holds madness. Listening to something that holds a deep meaning or something naturally made with instruments requiring skill, not some DJ tones created by electronics "Techno" but skill. Music has deteriorated. If you want to listen to real music listen to something that touches your soul. Leaves you the mark of that passing notes for the rest of your life. That my friends is music.

I usually listen to music if I'm pissed, happy, really high. The music just makes what ever I'm feeling intensified. If I'm pissed off for instance I get more pissed off, I'm happy I get way more happy.
When I'm tripping balls I usually listen to something with a constant beat.
I usually listen to death metal and gridcore.
Bands I listen to the most
Killwhitneydead
Dying Fetus
Neaera
GUT
Cattle Decapitation
Zao
The Red Chord
Necrophagist

Dude, superskunk, we'd get along great. Almost all those bands are in my playlists and shit.
But as for what music does to me,
I listen to 95%metal and the other 5% falls into techno and rock.
I like, Meshuggah, Slayer, Circle of Dead Children, Finntroll, CKY, Primus, Amon Amarth, Nightrage, Apocolyptica, Behemoth, Between the buried and me, Skyfire, Bloodbath, buckethead, Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth (which I refer to as bassanet of dirt lol), Dimmu Borgir, Dethklok, Entombed, Graveworm, GNARKILL WHICH IS AWESOME, Primo Fantasmo Lucas, Immolation, KATAKLYSM, Job for a cowboy, Morbid Angel, Morgoth, Mors Principium Est, Necrophagia, Necrophagist, Nevermore, Nile, Orphans in coma, pig destroyer, Rammstein, Scar symmetry, Soilwork, tenacious D, Therion, and Wintersun. Those are the main bands I listen to (in alphabetical, basically, from my playlists in Media Player.
Since I listen to so much metal, one would think I'm constantly angry. But I've been told I'm actually very happy. Dude, If I can Headbang it, I like it. The headbang is my thumbs up.
But when I get angry or depressed, the metal amplifys it and makes me really violent. I threw a lamp against the wall at the cat for no reason out of anger. And I cut when I'm depressed, but not in an emo way, but in an angry artistic way. I usually make cut tattoos and shit. lol but yeah Metal makes me happy
BUT one of my alltime favorite bands is HIM. They are the only band that makes me happy, sad, mad, and enlightened all at once. Plus, they help me sleep.
I owe my life (literally) to music.

Most metal heads I've ever met are the happiest mother fuckers I've ever met.
But once they are pissed off there is no bringing back there good mood... until they got a blunt to their mouth or some beer in their tummy.

I am an ENORMOUS fan of heavy metal. I love how heavy metal makes you feel really angry for a moment but when it's all over you really can't find anything to be mad at!

Same here, I practically only listen to heavy metal, and rock, it can calm me down, pump me up, or practically do anything for me, depending on the speed of the song, and it's lyrics. Rap rarely does anything for me, unless I'm really calm, then it's just fun to try to speak fast.

metal/rock is my favorite, it get's me pumped up for anything. It's like a drug, i gotta have my fix or i'll go crazy:p
rap is rarely good, you might find something decent here and there but it's not worth looking for. anybody with a decent voice could be a rapper, it takes talent to make music. you can get all sorts of feelings from rap, but why not get those feelings from some other genre?
counrty/pop is shit. . . it makes me want to fight even more than metal just cuz it sucks so bad. the one exception being johnny cash
indie music is great for chilling. when i need to clear my mind i listen to death cab for cutie
techno isn't that great of music to listen too alone. but when you wanna get freaky with glowsticks there is no better music
but i like bands with a purpose. That are trying to tell you something. like rage against the machine, system of a down, tool, etc. they make me feel like taking action

reggae makes me chill and i love to smoke to it. i listen to the trance techno shit when I do hallucigens, last time i did it i was on dxm and it was fucking magical. listen to metal pretty much all the time, can be soothing or make me even more pissed, good to go to sleep to sometimes (burzum is great to go to sleep listening too). idk i listen to music as much as i can, and not just metal. everything does something for me except that manufactured pop shit, and the only country i've ever liked was johnny cash. idk i can ramble on about music for a while but there's no point really...
