I've got a S&W M&P15, which is serving me well. Modified it a bit to be more of a DMR, with a Larue Scope (or an EOTech, depending on the situation), a supressor for the range, and a bipod. I've still got the standard 6-pos stock, but am looking at other options at the moment.

When it comes to handguns, however, my favorite is really hard to place: definitely a 1911 .45 ... But I'm not sure which one. A friend of mine has a really nice one that I've only had the pleasure of firing once, and I absolutely loved it. Just the right amount of kick to feel the power of the weapon without being a pain in the ass, I love the combination of a grip/trigger safety, and a dual-action hammer, meaning I can keep a round in the chamber all the time. The make completely eludes me now, however.

Oh, and in regards to "ZDDOGG"'s Barrett post, I was honestly thinking of buying one at the last gun show I went to. It was a Delta Force turn-in, and had like 255 confirmed kills on it. Would have cost me a pretty penny at about $15 grand, but damn that would have been nice. In the end, I chose a car over it.

well if i can only choose ones legal in canada then M-14S rifle fitted with custom stock #M14-105: M4 stock, grips, optic, its 400 for the rifle and 600 for the stock 7.62x51mm NATO also takes .308 Winchester, comes with flash hider and you only need a PAL to buy it. its a versatile sniper for 300-800 yards and the ammo is available at any canadian tire. the stock and accessories are expensive but worth it. a variant of the m-14 is also used as a designated marksmans rifle in the navy seals and USMC.

Im not really an AK-47 fan but the Czech (imv1/4 Czech) made a beautiful similar rifle called the VZ-58S , which in canada you can get with a restricted licence (for handguns) for around 600

I actually have a personal vendetta against Dragunovs. The things are uncomfortable, inaccurate, and are just the typical Soviet concept of ideology over function: They went with a Kalashnikov mechanism simply because of the National Pride involved in it.

The thing with the Soviet military is that if you said something was faulty or disagreed with anything, you were guilty of defeatist statements and executed. No Soviet scientist spoke up when Stalin had the bright idea to drop paratroopers out of airplanes without parachutes so that the Germans wouldn't see them drop, expecting the snow to break their fall.

And yeah, nothing beats an AK for arming militias. They take no training to use, and are perfect for morons who won't clean their weapons. I'd take an AR15 over it for my own personal use, however.

But in almost any other situation I'd prefer a 5.56. The recoil is basically nonexistant, so it's much easier to put large quantities of lead on target. Then again, far smarter and more experienced men than I have had very, very heated discussions about this very topic.

I wouldn't dis 9mm. They make for very good concealed carry. Glock makes some amazing supercompacts in 9mm. The main reason I use 9mm, however, is that it allows me to buy one type of ammunition in bulk, and use both for my two Glocks and my MP5.

I mean, even a .22 pistol can be useful, especially if you want a silent kill. Suppressor with a .22 to the back of the head is probably the only actually silent weapon you can get. Then again, I read recently that some ex-Green Beret shot a home intruder with a .22, and it actually bounced off of his skull, knocking him out.

Look it depends on your own personal preference. If you dont like the 9mm, dont use it. The 9mm cart***** had proven itself through two world wars, and is still racking up the body count. So has the .45 round. Some people cant handle a .45 though, so they go for something they can use.

And do not diss the Russian M44. I got 5 and they shoot better and with more accuracy than my Rem 700M24 system that was designed to be a sniper system. That damned rifle will put a hole in .5'' steel at 900yds within a inch and I got the plates to prove it.

The AK47 was/is a revolutionary rifle. Firing at a great caliber, a great range, and a great ROF. And what do you mean, look at the people who "uses" them? They sure are doing a number on our soldiers in Iraq, huh motherfucker? If you and I stood at either end of a field, you with your .40sw or .45, (or your M16, M4, Rigby whatever), I will rock the shit out of you. I've fired the Ak47 several times at many different ranges, and have found it to fire true. Even on fully automatic (My Brother's friend took us shooting (He has the permits)), the Ak47 shot within 3 inches of target zone, on the first 2 shots, and sprayed the shit out of the target with the rest. And yes, Green Berets can shoot, he caught him in the center of the forehead from about 10 yards away.

And Deuce, I'd take that bet with an M16A4. When he says look at the people that use them, he has a point. AKs are fantastic weapons for arming militia. You don't really need to teach them how to clean them, they have an incredibly simple operating mechanism, and the bolt is a fucking truck. But there's a real reason why any well-trained organization prefers H&K, FN or ABC. The only decently trained group of people to use Kalashnikovs are Spetsnaz, and that's for ideological reasons and national pride.

You point out that a lot of Coalition Forces have been killed in Iraq... Very few of which are actually killed by Kalashnikovs. Mostly they're killed by roadside bombs and mortars. You're more likely, percentage-wise, to be shot living in Washington, DC than on active duty in Iraq. Now, I don't think you can blame the weapon here, as it's being used by untrained morons (good friend of mine was in charge of training Iraqi police... After he showed them how to zero their weapons, they used pliers to bend the iron sights back into place-- on another note, they refuse to check their targets after they fire at them, because if they miss, they dishonor themselves)

The Age of the AK at the top of the chain is long over. It is not, nor will it ever be, a bad weapon. It's a solid, reliable, decently accurate weapon with good stopping power, and it was revolutionary in its day. Hell of a weapon, but anyone who claims it's superior to a modern A4 or a FN SCAR or even an FAL is relying on sentimentality more than actual results.

30' with a .22 is a relatively simple shot - a .22 is pretty accurate no matter what type weapon it is, as long as the barrel has clean rifling, it will go where its pointed

M468/M46.8 how ever you want to say it. Its a smaller light weight version of the M16, carries a larger bullet than the M16 yet smaller than the Ak47 with more penetrating power, when fired in full auto it doesnt jam and it stays cool to the touch. It is durable as hell pass every test the AK did. Best gun made in america to date.

Ah the Heckler&Koch G36. The Compact or Commando variant is pretty good especially for CQB. Its a .223 round used, so it'll blast some soda can size holes in your victim. And its sexy if you outfit it right. Now they usually come with a red dot holo sight already in the pitcanny rail, but get better sights for it like the Trijicon ACOG.

my personal favorite is the accuracy international AW sniper rifle. it's got wonderful accuracy and runs on standard nato rounds or for other variants of the main version can carry rounds like 7mm remmington or .300 winchester. beautiful gun.

blah you americans and your obsession with full auto. no accuracy due to barrel jump which means bad shot placement and if you put a stabilizer on the barrel its harder to hold steady. semi auto is as far as i would go. an experienced bolt action user can get off a round a second without sacrificing accuracy.

My favorite gun would have to be my shortened Mini 14 (semi by switched automatic rifle)
I got a 20 round custom clip which i got made by my uncle which is a gunsmith, i got him 2 also fitted a special shortened 233 barrel (40cm long barrel)
I can fire off 5 rounds in 2 seconds and be able to bull's eye a target a 150meters, She fires on specially loaded shells to get maximum velocity out.

1911 .45 Springfield Armory semi-auto. Modified with an extended clip and laser sights, this thing is great. Add some hollow-nose bullets, and that thing fucking kills all. It more than makes up for the low velocity.

If you can conceal it, the Smith & Wesson .500 is the best revolver you can get. Body armor dosen't stand a chance, even without armor piercing rounds. And its accurate as hell.

Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum snub nose is awesome. I have mine modified with laser sights. I love revolvers. You just cant match that kind of reliability. I carry this one almost everywhere, its so small that I can do that. Just the size is enough to say about this one.

Thompson SMG. Not very practical, but looks cool as hell with a 50 round drum clip and foregrip. I love the .45 caliber cartrige. An automatic with this cartrige is just insane.

GAU-8 Avenger. 30mm armor piercing incindiery rounds at 3900 RPM. Enough said.

It takes a pretty steady hand, and one hell of a grip to get a good pattern when shooting the Glock18. At 30 yards the best I can do on full auto is a ~1ft. diameter pattern, and that's sitting down at a shooting bench; standing up I might hit the target with half the clip.

It is a PDW (personal defence weapon) and is commonly used in private armed protection sevices so I suppose that you could buy one, but it would be really fuckin expensive because you would have to buy from a middle man or something like, plus you'de have to buy a special licence because it's auto and a military weapon. But what the hell, the gun's fuckin awsome, why not spent that money for the fuckin most badass SMG

DMR: M14 7.62x51 rips meat daily. Full-automatic can eat a dick. though m-14's can go full auto.

Assualt rifle: SCAR MK. 17 Can be converted to shoot 5.56 or 7.62 NATO rounds and its a great reliable rifle. second choice would be ak 108 as it shoots the best damn round their is 5.56x45 with a platform that is just amazing.

PIstol: Five SeVen 5.7x28 small rifle round, trigger pulls great, at 150 yds drops a 1/2 inch. Sig Sauers are amazing though.

LMG: M60 as the 7.62x51 is still badass and ROF is smaller which i think is needed. and its been in service for quite a while. Mk43's ok though.

as for LR rifle i say the Cheytec .408 is the best becasue it can be supressed compared to the M82 or AS550, and to top that off its bolt action.

Under barrel Grenade launcher i say EGLM 40mm is great but its SCAR specific but can be convereted to a standalone profile. Second choice is XM320 as its basicly the same with touch ups. GP-25/30 can eat a dick.

the SCAR seems, nice but have you looked at the HK416 or HK417? they have the same gas system as the G36, and are made from modded M4s.

the Cheytec M200 looks like its pretty badass, but i'm still curious as to how good the XM500 would be....its essentially a bullpup M82/M107.

for lmgs, i think the FN M240 seems to be good, but i really dont know much about it. seems to be like a newer M60 though

you forgot to mention that the Five seveN comes with a 20 round mag, and militarily has armor piercing rounds as standard.

ya i did neglect to mention the 20 round clip. of all the firearms ive mentioned ive only fired the five seVen the only thing wierd about it( not necesarily bad) is the trigger pull and the tall front sight. Ive heard alot of people call the recoil on it a water pistol but thats total bull shit. recoil is just a little under a .45. anyway when it comes to favorite guns i tend to look at the calibers more than specfic types of guns.

I've fired this one handed and the recoil is managable, I've seen a woman take a hit to the face from the recoil of a .45 cal I'm not saying this gun is in no way better it just seems practical for me because I can handle the recoil, I'm a decent shot with in 50m(164feet) normally wouldn't need more than 1 shot to bring someone down and the recoil does make it hard for someone who hasn't practiced with this firearm but for me I'd choose this gun over a five seven because i don't need more shots i can handle recoil and I am a good shot I sacrafice it all less ammo and more recoil for more power the only thing I can say it has for faults is its concealability makes it less practical for carrying in town and going on a heist but i don't live in a part of the world where handguns are legal or your even allowed to carry in weaponary at all in public (Including Knives) so i don't take the risk.

If another country invaded the US I'd put an improvised integrally suppressed barrel on my 10/22 and use it for combat. you can say .22 is a pussy round all you want, but a bullet is still a bullet and even a .22 is likely to knock you down. anyways, aim for the head, take them out damn near silently, and get the fuck out of there.

if your going 50 cal sniper an accuracy arms is far superior to the barett but is also twice as expensive its semi auto with recoil management systems and actually looks like a gun.

and as for silencers here in canada you could buy them at a grocery store if they sold em , no laws what so ever. if you want a 10/22 silencer gemtech makes one that is a barrel with the suppressor integrated into it. not sure whether a high end company like gemtech would just mail it across international borders though...

Gemtech is actually located in Idaho so we have to go through the BATF NFA headache. However, integrally suppressed 10/22 barrels are not hard at all to improvise from a standard barrel.

dont drill holes in your barrell
this will allow gas to escape causing the bullet to have much less force

I haven't shot many guns. I've shot a BB Rifle, BB pistol, a Paintball Gun, a 410 Shotgun (which about blew my arm off) and a .22 Rifle.

Out of those I liked the .22 the best. It didn't kick hard, and it was easy to use. The one I fired was an old western style lever action gun, kind of like this one:

lawl a .410 nearly blew your arm off ? try a 10 gauge with a sabot or a .44-40 the .444 was the first centre fire rifle i ever shot and it launched me backwards. a .22 has less recoil then a pellet rifle so its the gun of choice for light firing , unless you dont want to have restrictions you your use of it. i havnt tried a .17 HMR or a Horandy MACH2 so i dono there recoil. and im personally a huge fan of level action .22's planning on buying brownings BL-22 once i turn 18 http://www.wholesalesports.com/onlinestore/control/category/~category_id=10210/~pcategory=1011000303

hahah shit what can you make it on??? my rugar 10/22 would be great but im not sure how you woul do that... my sega .308 and ak has a thread at the end for the flash surpressor if you could rig one on that... ummm my mac 11 would be bitching to have one one (m11 is 9mm) i have 2 barrels for that one with so if modification was needed it could be done to one of them. one is just a pistole barrel and the other is an air hole barrel for acuracy


or if your up for a real challange.. i have seen planes that are like damn near impossible for a surpressor for my px4 storm (beretta) i have a .45 and a .9mm

Making a suppressor is easy, its attaching it to the gun thats hard, threads make it easier.
The 10/22 is very easy to suppress and can be made almost totally silent, i can also talk you through making it automatic.

my favorite weapon is the tavor CTAR 21 Israeli assault rifle because of its compact sub machine gun like design, but it has the accuracy and put down of a full sized assault weapon.However my favorite weapon that i actually own would have to be the assault rifle that i bought from my uncle for a 100 bucks.i have other guns but this one is my favorite because of the folding stock and 30 round clip not to mention the 7.62 round that makes a nice hole in any thing i shoot it at including those fucking squirrels,sitting up there looking all cute and shit.im not sure what the exact model is because i cant read the Russian markings on the side but is made out of black synthetic material,and has a stock that folds up to the side of the gun once you pull the locking pin out ,it also has attachments for a bayonet and it has a pistol grip right where the trigger guard is it looks almost like an AK but im not sure who manufactures it or what the model is
