Can anyone tell me an easy way to crack Administrator password in Vista? I can login as a guest w/out privileges. Ophcrack does not work, I already tried. I don't want to use a visible keylogger either. I only want to give myself Administrator privelges in Guest log in

I am quite sure that you hack Windows Vistas administrative password the same way that you do for Windows XP's administrative password login!
Oh you want me to tell you?
I'll tell you later!

I'm not that computer literate, if anyone can give me more details please. I don't even know what SAM means. Like I said, I only have guest privelages. I tried opcrack & if u go to ophcracks site u will read that it take a real guru to use this for Vista because of thrashes?
Whatevea, Ishk..... Y U want me to die?

As promised I will tell you something that I learned from this very site which helped me a ton and for which I am immensely grateful! Turn on your computer and press F8 ( it helps to do this repeatedly)! After you press F8 your computer should bring up some options one of which hopefully will be to start windows in safe mode click on the TOP administrator icon(hopefully there in not a password on this)! If there is not then go into your control panel and then go into user accounts and there you should be able to change the other administrative password! To put some strength behind this then after you change the administrative password restart you computer and then when something first comes up press F10 and go into CMOS and change the CMOS password!

Hey Massiggyman this worked for me! You don't have to set the passwords when you first load X.P.!
I had to reload X.P. not too long ago so I think I should know!

F8 doesn't help, F12 put me into boot. Under security I can enter info. 1st 2 options say clear, 2nd 2 options say enter, next 3 are irrevelant. Vista is alot more challenging than XP. When son left on, I tried to change status of my guest account, which I couldn't figure out. Not like user friendly XP. Don't want to change password, just get in backdoor

Technically not true. I have pro and didn't set a password.
Then again, it's more like pro "lite" but who's counting right? :P

like I said dipshit, it's pro lite. There's a shit ton of stuff stripped out of it, including setting an ***** password.

I was hoping to get in w/out changing or removing as then my son will know I got into his computer. I don't know much about this stuff, so maybe I should give up! It is interesting although to see if one can actually get into VISTA
Ophcrack actually worked on 98 version. Mass....... U not remember me?

@jena, exactly why are you trying to hack your son's computer?
if it's just to see what he's doing, just get a linux livecd and find the history files for his browser...or just log the stuffs going in and out of your router if you have one....

Thank u Cuddles, maybe this could work if I knew how to do it. We are connected to a router. I just don't know how to get the info. Also, this Linux LiveCD, can I install this in a boot mode or do I have to have ***** privelges?

I don't know how :( Maybe I shouldn't be botherin u all.
I got other shit going on too like I have a Trojan on my laptop all of a sudden in some spyware I have.

you dont need any privs at all to use a linux live cd
(unless, of course, the harddrive is encrypted, in which case, you'd need the encryption key BUT i HIGHLY doubt it is....tho i did encrypt my folders when i had windows installed...most people dont even know how to do that...=)
basically, just go into the computer's bios, and change cd rom drive to first in the boot order, and stick the cd in the drive and reboot
as to monitoring via the router, that's a bit more work...

Hiren's Boot disks always helped me out with passwords and other shit.

there is a txt file and it helps you out on how to burn and use the programs on there.

Okay, So I need to obtain a Linux Live CD, change CD rom drive to 1st in boot order, insert CD then reboot, then monitoring via the router I don't understand. The router is hooked up to my deceased mothers old desktop & my laptop & sons pick up from that. R U sure this Linux will work on Vista cause I have an ophcrack CD that I tried in boot menu, didn't work cause of thrashes

I don't want to be downloading all kinds of stuff. Just want a for sure download. Massigy... like u said in a different post u all r here to help us. Some of us come here because of life situations that need help. The computer is like a friggin Bible of a person. I need to get into my sons Vista computer. Cain & Abel not say Vista, not on a landline, it is wireless. Ubunta, well not state Vista & don't know if need to desktop or server or nearest location is best. Is Vista too complicated w/no easy way? I already have spyware in it but cannot download w/out ***** privelges. This Vista, I hate as in not user friendly like rest. I don't even see where u can change privelages after I got into his ***** account when he left laptop on! I even went to Vista help. Don't see how it's done!

holy fuck deuce, why don't you try and fucking help like everyone else. You have to be one of the most dickheaded noobs that have come on here.
Jena: Monitoring isn't very hard. Depends what you want to monitor for, though. Also, what kind of router do you have? Since, in most routers you can literally go in there and see what traffic and in some cases what websites have come through it, so if you are worried your son has been watching skid flicks or something then it shows that...I think...damn I cant remember.

Thanks Pie, It's a Linkys Router hooked up to his desktop. He also has a laptop as the desktop if piece of crap. It's just being used a router connector. I have a laptop that receives off router on his. So I heard about this stuff, how can I proceed to see stuff from router?
My sons father killed himself about 2 years ago, my parents died about 3 years ago & his other grandfather about 8 years ago. Toooo much death! & I would really like to do more than seeing sites like posted in someones history. Utimately, I'd like to monitor as much as possible

Linux live cd's for you:
ubuntu: http://www.ubuntulinux.org, download desktop live cd edition
even better,
backtrack: http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack.html
Download the cd image and burn to a cd.
Go into bios settings, change boot order to cd first, and boot into backtrack. choose the default option first. If that doesn't work, try the VESA mode. If that doesn't work, use something different. From the desktop on backtrack you will be able to (barring encrypted hard drive) access all files on the hard drive. Go into "computer"(? can't remember what it is in kde. should be something like computer). The icon in the window that pops up should say "hard disk drive" or "sda" or "hda". From there, go wild. if you go into ubuntu, go to places>computer and "(size of drive here) volume". Either way, you will have access to all (unencrypted) files on the computer. This is good for just history and things you can see through files, but look at the next part for other stuff
Also, I think backtrack can do sam cracking but im not sure...
P.S
Just saw your post on vista confusion. If the computer is left on again, click start, click on the picture in the top right of the start bar (should be sticking out of the start bar a little bit. That will take you to "user accounts". click in the bottom "Manage another account". if uac is enabled, it will come up. just hit continue. if its got a password ur fucked but i'll proceed under the assumption that there isnt. Click "create another account". From there it should be self-explanatory. make the new account an *****, make a username like RECOVERY or something inconspicuous like that. Click "create account". Click on RECOVERY on the users screen and click create a password. Create whatever password you want. Then just leave the computer alone. The next time you need to get on, just log in with that account. Have fun!

Ok, so if you have a linksys router, then you should be able to access it from your laptop. open up a browser, and type in...192.168.1.1 and then a little box saying "enter password for 192.168.1.1" comes up. Type in ***** as user, and leave password box blank (this is assuming that you do not have a password set for network *****) If you manage to get in, the screen you will see is the router's firmware, and there are various tabs, options, etc. I don't know very much about Linksys, but in the D-Link i use, you go to advanced>applications, but there is also parental control, etc.
What kind of Linksys router do you use, I can look it up for you and see what options are.

Cuddles
March 17th, 2008, 12:52 PM
what were the sites?
it was probably her DNS server's search, if not just straight google/msn search/whatever her browser decides to go to when there's a server not found error and the dns doesnt has a default....
tho i havve no idea why....192.168.1.1 should work for linksys....

That is the default IP for the Actiontec router which runs Linux. I have an office that people use daily. They know very little about me logging into the router to view web history from each PC.

I went to the Linksys site & it shows how to change IP address, along with requiring a port connected to it. So it appears that my wireless laptop cannot do it unless I directly connected to the router. Whatevea, I still have not obtained clear instructions to access via the router :(
Here's another one for ya, remember, I a newbie. Do all computers have to be on Network Sharing?
I started detailing boats today, buffed & buffed as a 2nd job and am going to croak at this rate to keep a roof over our heads. Just want an easy way to get in & monitor :(

Do Both Computers have Vista? In Vista, you can go into Network and Sharing center and there's this feature where you can see all the computers on the network, and you can double-click on the computer and see all the files and stuff. You can also check history once inside over the computer.

I Agree with Mass. i have had my father kill himself as well, except I actually walked inside the house and seen his body. Ive lived on the streets, and out of abandoned houses. Never had much of anything my entire life(im only 17)..and im still fine...worrying about him constantly will only make you do things you will later regret, such as invading his personal space, and giving him the wrong idea of your intentions.

how about quit spying on your kid jena? because i swear if your son came on here and asked how to keep you out of his stuff, i wouldn't hesitate to advise him the steps to take to ensure his privacy, also he could technically sue you, computer tresspass is a felony.
True, but then again who knows he might be just use the computer, not know it, if you know what I mean.
