~Warning~ !!do this as fast as you can because its not illegal yet!!
So a freind and I recently watched an episode of the Boondocks entitled "Lets Nab Oprah." In it Huey built a taser glove from plans he found on the internet, we thought this was a badass idea so we set out to create our own. Taser are illegal in the state of Michigan so untill we take a trip out of state we were left improvising. We built two gloves, one for the each of us, by gutting a disposable camera and mounting it on the back of some electricians gloves. Real simple all we did was solder some 16 guage wire to the nodes of the flash capacitor (the big cylindrical thing) of the camera, and ran them to the front of the glove. My freind decided to have the capacitor discharge on his knuckles so he superglued two washers to the top of the glove and attatched the wires to them. I wanted a shocking grab rather than a punch, so I glued one washer to the forfinger and the other to the thumb. I also swapped out the 600 volt capacitor that came standard with the camera, with a 900V one I had lying around, the cameras components seem to be able to handle it (trust me I've done extensive feild reasearch hahah). Both of these are pretty fun for fucking with people and are good for settling disputes. I think we'll play around with the prototypes for awhile untill we get our hands on a coupple of real, half a million volt tasers.

at least you credited the show, i was afraid i was gonna have to yell at you.....aside from that, i havent bothered to read this...meh...you could probably set up some really small capacitors with a rubber backing and make it look and fit like a normal glove, it'd just be a lot of parallel circuits and really annoying to use because of the general idea of how a taser works, you get one good shock then it's all empty....you'd need a way to continually generate power...or set up a controlled release...and even then, you'd need a method of activation

Yea It would have gotten overly complicated if I had built it like the one on the show. It looked like his would discharge too easily and there is no way his capacitors charged that fast inbetween punches. If you had it rigged up lining the inside of the glove with nodes, everytime you closed your fist you would be loosing an entire charge. I want to build the finnal one with nodes on each finger but I was too anxious to mess with parallel circuts on the prototype

Pffffft. Congratulations, you are now where I was four years ago.

A photoflash cap is a poor choice. For a ghetto rig like this, sure, it'll work, but it's relatively low peak output, high charge time and short life cycle mean that the current will be less and less each time. Those thigns are fucking disposable for a reason.

Not too long ago I used two one-farad capacitors the size of your arm and a compact motorcycle battery in a small backpack, linked by industrial-stength power cable to a baton. Now that kicked some ass.

Where'd you get the capacitors. Did you gut it from somthing or just order it.

These ones I bought at a scrapyard, but they can be bought quite easily, though it'll be expensive.

If anyone is interested i found something that has the same effect as the glove, without the umm gloviness...

where do i get the wires for the glove?? and is it like as soon as you touch something it discharges? make a video please. plus is the shock anuf to hurt someone? where do i get electritian gloves too??

There are already videos online of different kinds you can get all the parts in the electricians section of your local hardware store 14 or 16 guage wire will work and the gloves just need to be somewhat insulated

I'd say go for it. I wish i could but its tough to find tasers around here there illegal in Michigan. You should be fine with regular 10 or 12 guage wire for a low grade taser but if you go any higher than 500,000 volts you might need to reinforce the insulation or get a higher guage wire. Be carfull when testing the thing out, it would suck having a short circut in a taser thats strapped to your hand hahah

one single AA battery is all you need for a disposable camera

jw.. How many volts would it take for any of these ideas to be lethal?

It's not voltage that's lethal, it's amps, though they are connected. Do a bit of simple electrical physics research and you should be able to figure out how to change the resistance of things to match a certain voltage to obtain a certain amount of amps running through the system.

this cant kill you because its olny 400 wats and no amps but it olny takes 1/2 an amp to kill you

geh, i'm probably gonna pick up alot of slack for being a noob, but who gives a fuck, lets get this train wreck a-rollin... anyways, theres a funn-ER way to accomplish this, and it has many MANY other uses. ladies and gentlemen, I give you the flyback transformer! this handy device, used in all devices with "tube" monitors amped up anywhere from 12-50 volts up to about two kilovolts.. yes TWO FUCKING KILOVOLTS. thats a two centimeter spark people, more than enough fun to go around. when you open up an old tv, what you'll be looking for is a long thick ass wire extending from the plug on the back of the tv tube. this leads to a large "device" on the main pcb. this device has a shit load of leads shaped like a "U" on the bottom and either a large disk, or a tower like thing, potted in a polymer, with either a potentiometer (rectified output, DC) or nothing at all (unrectified output, AC) they each have a few fun uses, but both can make quite nice plasma arcs. I'll plug a good website for this shit, www.sixmhz.com for specific instructions on setting up the circut, you need a single transistor too, go there and click on the link labeled "cheap and easy voltage, the flyback transformer"

Take not that although the "taser gloves" themselves are not illegal, they still fall under the catagory of "stun gun", which is considered a concealed weapon in many states. With most concealed weapons you need to carry a Class 3 weapons license, and in order to qualify for this license you will need to be at least 21 years of age. Now, on the other hand, y'all are a bunch of Anarchists and probably have all kinds of illegal shit anyways, just keep in mind that you shouldn't use this shit in public. lol
