I think, here in the states, that we should open our borders to our neighbors. The only reason they want to keep mexicans down in Mexico is because the people who run the country dont want to pay minimum wage for workers here in the states; when they can pay mexicans fractions less if they keep them down in Mexico. People think that mexicans are taking jobs from people here in the country, but the government wants to do the same thing just inversed. Plus mexicans do all the jobs than no one wants to do, and build almost everything. Mexicans are rebuilding New Orleans, so theres going to be alot of mexicans in south... I bet this is going to be funny, rednecks havnt delt with mexicans before. Mexicans are just like rednecks.

well im a second generation mexican so ofcourse im going 2 agree. besides when california was signed over to the u.s., part of the agreement was that we could cross from mexico to california any time we want, but as soon as it was part of the United States they put up borders.i think whites just like to complain and make drama-"they're taking our jobs"-bull**** we help out ALOT

The United States is basically built by blacks (As some of you call niggers) and Mexicans. They basically do all the work for nothing, so no one should complain when a Mexican or black gets the job at KFC before you do.

Blacks built America before the civil war, and mexicans after the civil war.

Well, i have no problem with immigration, but illegal immigration is what pisses me off. These illegal immigrants, no matter what country they may come from, come into are country and avoid taxation. If America would get their act together and start taxing these illegals, i would have no problem with them being here. Of course, thats if they fallow the laws and what not.

But the people who are not being taxed are the people, working under the table, and getting payed $4 an hour. They have no unions, no rights, no nothing. Its almost impossible to get citizenship in this country. You need alot of money and they use some wierd ass point system to determine if you are worthy of citizenship. Its like the Jim Crow laws, but for immigration.

Mexicans are taking some of the jobs that people actually wanted, like my uncle for instance, he did work at Delphi making 29$/hr. but the company bought him out with early retirement, and now the highest paid job at Delphi is 12-13$/hr and all the workers that did work there have now been replaced with Mexicans, even the blacks that worked with him have had to find other jobs to support their families. On the topic of who built America, I will give you one-the blacks did help build before the civil war, but it was mainly concentrated in the south; in the north most of the building was done by the Irish, Germans or northerners. However, after the civil war the majority of the building done all over the nation was done by the freedman (free blacks) and Irish or German immigrants, and the poor yeoman whites. The Mexicans did not emerge as a source of labor until the late 60's, and has just recently became a problem of sorts.

Yah I knew Irish people and other immigrants built the east coast back in the early 1900's, but like you said Im talking about recent mexican immigration.

And about your uncle loosing work; Its not the mexicans fault, its capitalism. The big cooperations would gladly pay immigrants with no rights 1/2 the amount, than pay Americans with unions and rights the full amount.

If there was any other poor country bellow us, we would still exploit them for cheap labor. And then racism would eventually get tied in with it. Like it did with the blacks, the European immigrants of the early 19th century, asians, and now the mexicans. Its one retared circle.

That is the reason they need to get their citizenship; then the companies would have to pay them the same as they pay us. Getting a citizenship is not as hard as you think, it just takes some time.

It is pretty hard, I know because everyone in my city is mexican. You need alot of money. Alot of immigrants are poor. If your in the prosses of getting citizenship, Last time i heard after staying in the country for awhile, you move back to your country for 5 years. Its called a "touchback" with your home country or something. Then you can move into the country. But only if you have enought points. And you get points for speaking english, and having all you toes, and having blue eyes... My point is that its ment so people cant become a citizen(the government would preffer that), Its the fucking Jim Crow laws all over agian.

My grandmother moved here from Germany and she got her citizenship quite easily, she only had to wait 4 years, and I don't remember how much it cost, but it could not have been very much because she didn't have a lot of money.

Well thats from Germany. We cant have our goods made for cheap in Germany and then trucked right back to us over the border. Its different for mexican immigrants, because the government wants then down in Mexico. Cheap labor = more money in their own pockets. Its taking away jobs from Americans and they dont care because they just want more money. Their plan is to build a big wall, then have the people on the other side make everything for cheap, then let the goods come back thew the big fucking wall.

-Nothing wrong with Mexicans.

"Last time i heard after staying in the country for awhile, you move back to your country for 5 years. Its called a "touchback" with your home country or something. Then you can move into the country."
-No, you're considered a migrant after one year.

Do you have what it takes to become a citizen?

Here are some of the questions that they might ask you on a civics test, see If you could pass in your own country's test.

I think that the government should start a bunch of public work programs and try to employ as many people as possible. I think this would make the economy go way up and crime way down.

That's what we did in the depression. It would be great, but we do have a war to fight at the moment. And wars take a lot of money. But when the troop withdrawal occurs this next spring I'm all for it.

I don't mind. War means I get hazard and separation pay. Lol. The only problem is at this point in time we're more capitalized and less industrialized.

So everyone is wrong when they say poiliticians hate immigration. They LOVE mexicans. Why pay an american that knows better 30 bux an hour when they can pay someone min wage? Its just simple economics. Americans are pushing these 'law makers' or upper class, the owners, share-holders, whatever of multi billion dollar companys to enact these laws that really are not doing anything... everything they do is for show. fences, enforcment of the border. . trust me if a owner of a company can pay his employes $5 less a year and put a million more in his pocket he/she will..

although the government has done well keeping the middle class so busy with bills, working, keeping up with the jones that everyone has lost focus on whats REALLY going on in our government.
Honestly with all these obligations who has really been to a protest, or can even take time off work to do something they care about?

If we are smart the government will go through a revolution in my lifetime. If not, we will keep taking it...
Thats just my opinion. . . I could be wrong - - (dennis miller)

But these immigrants who send money back home are taking money out of the U.S. and putting it in the Mexican gov'ts hands. American business owners don't realize that they are killing themselves (and if not the ones that come after them) because it will ultimately kill the economy.

I'm from Texas, so border problems here are a real nuisance. I'm tired of watching illegals come across for a few months, taking the local jobs, killing the economy, and running every worthy white or black or hispanic out of the town. It's quite absurd.

And border patrol down here is no joke. We have a Civi Border Patrol on the clock at all times with over 50,000 members. They all carry weapons, (mostly dear rifles, 30-06, .308, but I have seen them use a Barret m-82! for those long distance shots.) The government may not want stronger border patrol, but I sure as hell enjoy watching over 1,000 miles of border patrolled by heavily armed men and women!
