I just got a letter from charter (my isp) saying that they suspect me of copyright infringement for downloading "flushed away" (for my lil siblings) while i was using Azureus and Thepiratebay... has anyone else got a letter from ANYONE about downloading movies and programs illegally? is there anyway to get around that?

you have nothing to worry about, teh simplest thing to do is call your isp and complain to them that you're recieving scare letters which should not be sent, as it displays untrue statements, and you may have to sue if they continue....

ive had people tell me their isp terminated service and when they called, said they had a virus that was effecting their computers, these people knew what they were doing and said "that's not possible", and the isp got upset and had to turn back on their service......isp's will lie if they think the customer will believe it....

yeah, thats it is that i dont download that many movies, mostly programs... Nero and Rosetta Stone are expensive, so i choose the Torrent way...

nero: there are loads of free alternatives that work just as well or better....the only real major issue is most of them have not multi-session capability......but honestly, i dont think any of you have any need for that...i do, but not terribly

Thats kinda wrong some programs say they cant find a liscence or something or they dont have a copyright or they do some programs tell you are you using one of those programs then that might be able to be used as a advantige or disadvantige

...if i cant understand you, by default, you are wrong...plus, you're wrong.....downloading violates no laws, it's using the program w/o a license that's breaking the copyright in that case....however, there's no way to prove you didnt pay for a license by proxy if you are in most cases unless they use a unique license system, which very few programs do....
