i don't need a bunch of useless help here so lets avoid that shall we.
I, unfortunately can not use limewire or any other form of downloading service or messenger. I am running Windows XP and the latest Firefox version. Any help appreciated. I think i'll go check their help sessions now...

im questioning what reasoning there is for you not being able to use any messengers or limewire, but there are online chat thingies which let you connect to all the major messengers....
http://meebo.com/
for instance, works quite well.....
as for downloads, have you tryed changing the port that limewire uses to the one firefox uses so that it thinks it is firefox connecting? and have you tried torrents, and if you cant get anything working, go to i-hacked.com and look for their google hacking for music article to download just about any music.....
my basic format for that is:
(intitle:index.of "mp3(or other formats, you pick)" "(bandhere)" -asp -htm -html -php)
needs quotes, doesnt need () thingies

Thank you, I have tried changing ports but when Idid that, I got an error messag and the ports were reset... that didn't work.(I got that out of the help sessions that come witht the download.)
The real problem isn't getting them working, it is getting them to connect. They download fine, install just like they should, but can not for the life of me connect to their servers.

there's a chance there's a firewall set to block the protocall used for limewire.....i assume you've tried disabling firewalls too......meh....i really have to see what's wrong to help much....you could always set up an ***** ssh account and let me fix it for you......

That's a possibility I guess. Also, I have tried Bitlord before but it didn't work. we also have downloaded trillian which, as I'm sure you know, interlinks with ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc. and it works, for like three seconds at a time. I've tried disabling my firewall before and it still sisn't work, I've got it allowed, I've changed the port, removed the firewall and allowed it as well at the same time and still nothing. All in all, our computer is fucked. The disk(CD) drive doesn't exist(according to My Computer) and we can't even install a game(sims, etc.) because the graphics card is out of date. lol

Ok, now if I did that, which i won't, what are the chances of you downloadin a RAT and hijacking our computer for malicious use?

download BitComet .70. it is a torrent thingy that configures your computer by itself so it can work.
