im auzzie, so aussie rap is shit i can relate to. plus i dont have to hear a different accent to what im used to. In your opinion, who is the best aussie rapper?

the ones i know:

Hilltop Hoods: nice beats, some incredibly deep shit (listen to fifty in five)
Bias B: Really good rapper. kinda shitty beats but his rapping makes up for it
Drapht: Amazing flow. he doesnt stop!
Phrase: i kinda hate him, dont know why.
Funkoars: Decent rappers, some good beats

Plenty of good stuff comes out of Aus mate,

for hiphop, you can't go past Hilltops, still my fave, no matter how popular they get, close second is funkoars, and a newish bloke is Level Headed, hes awesome, don't forget um Crossbred Mongrels << All Adelaide crews so far, the home of hiphop!

then theres bliss, muph and plutonic, drapht, hyjak and torcha, check them out, meaningful lyrics n shit :P, theres Downsyde, Brad Strut, oh definitely check out Pegz, he's pretty good, and the new crew, Gully Platoon which has Pegz and like 4 other decent MC's in it, SBX, mmmmm thats all that i can think of for now

my least favourite would probably be bliss n eso mainly coz one of them raps with an american accent, and their songs are usually rubbish and allways about sex and getting stoned, which isn't that bad actually :P oh and they've sold out too, faggots

Thanks, been listening to some Obese shit, i have all of Hilltop's songs now including their early songs and Restrung album. The main thing i like about aussie rappers that i don't like with american rappers is that all the american rappers make meaningless, dumbed down songs with no thought or feeling, its like their all about the money, aussie rappers have awesome flow with great lyrics. Plus, all the gang related crap is stupid, here in ***bourne we have no gang problem, there are faggy high school gangs like 'southern cross soldiers' who think they are top shit because they smoke weed and drink energy drinks, poofs aint even heard of the real shit like LSD or X.

Yeah, another reason why I love Hilltops, they want to be in full control of what they produce n obese started taking a bit of that away, and as soon as that started, they left Obese and made their own recording company, 'Golden Era' thats why in thew new album, state of the art they say golden era a few times, I think they help out new crews and mc's trying to get their music heard in aus, with their new company as well
