he made his own church ,he discarded the cross and other rituals,

Christianity doesn't have any of those listed, and nuns/popes/priest are specific to certain things in Catholicism, so that right away ends the thought of it being the same thing.
Judaism also came before Christianity- they share completely different beliefs, but they come together in the history of religion... This does not make it the same religion.

So I don't see how 'Intelligent Design' fit in with this story of God and Satan talking, because Intelligent Design is specifically against that sort of thing.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your wrong. Catholicism is a form of christianity. Christianity encompasses all religions that believe in jesus chsrist as the messiah. Judaism is not a form of christianity. Protestant, Englican, Methodist, Baptist, Mennonite, Ahmish, Lutheran, Pietists, Roman catholic, all forms of christianity. I never said Catholicism isn't related to Christianity in any way. Gheox said they are the same thing... They really aren't... it's a variant of Christianity, but they are very different when it comes to views and symbolism and everything else.
