I don't believe in hacking vending machines, I believe they should be broken into with brute force! I have done this on many occasions. The way my "helpers" and I do this is not meant to get soda, but the cash in the machine. We usually buy a few sodas, knowing we're going to get our cash back anyways. On a vending machine, there is a little 'lip" that sticks out and you put your money in. above that is a small square about 4"x4". The square usually is plastic and has a little message that says "Thirsty?" or some other bullshit like that. The way we have been getting in is by dislidging that plastic square with a pry bar, and then doing the same thing to the thin metal plate behind it. Once opened up the "cash compartment" is visible, at which point we smash that plastic contraption to hell, and grap the cash. This is usually a 5 minitue deal. This works well except for two problems.
1) It's a mess, and totally fucks the machine, so it can't be hit several times. 2) Every time we break these machines, the place that owns the machines, comes back with some more elaborate lock and security measure (although the dumbasses have yet to use a camera)
I was wondering if there is an easier way to get in? There are two machines, one of them has a lock that loos like an "L" one side is attached to the front (over the "thirsty" plate, and the other is attached to the right side of the machine, keeping the door closed. At the joint of the "L" there is a cylinder that's about the size of half a coke can, and swivels. there is a key hole, but I have no experience in lock picking. I was wondering if there was a way to slip the other side of the "L" out of the lock, opening the machine, and enabling us to hit that machine multiple times without suspicion. Thanks for reading this fucking novel of a post.
