Does the "Rental Program" Work?

I was wondering does the "Rental Program" work at stores such as Walmart?
If you don't know what I'm talking about.. I mean buying something such as... Like a xbox or something (Keeping receipt), using it for 2-3 days and take it back (with your receipt) and get full refund??? Does that really work?? Because if it does, I'm totally using that strategy for QuakeCon.

Well, wasn't going to try out on games anyways.. I was thinking about a T.V or a game system.

If that's the case, keep it for more than 2-3 days. I'm sure it works though. I bought a TV there, and hooked it up the next day. Shit didn't work, and they took it back, no problem. Just asked what was wrong with it, said it didn't work, there you go, here's a refund (I actually just asked for an exchange for a refund, but they offered a refund first). So I'm sure you could use it for a bit, then bring it back, should work, IMO.

Definitely not games though...
