Since there seems to be no thread in the forum thus far, and this being the dwelling of the Enlightened, perhaps I can get my question answered here.
What do the Enlightened believe about the paranormal, occult, and pagan.
Are they real?
Do they have power?
I know a couple of you had said you have had experiences with unexplainable phenomena in a seperate thread.
Thanks for your time!

I have some belief in the paranormal because I had a strange experience not too long ago:
One night, I was rolling around in bed because I had trouble sleeping. Then when I was on my back and staring at the ceiling, I suddenly felt paralyzed in every joint of my body. While being immobile, I suddenly heard a voice talking to me in an almost demonic tone. I felt completely helpless.
Fortunately I gathered enough strength to force myself into moving, and the voice disappeared as I fell off my bed.
I think something was trying to possess me, but it could have been some lucid dream that felt a little too real. Hope it never happens again.

Do you have any thoughts on where this paralyzation came from?
I know that several phsycics and pagans have written entire books on entities akin to demons, and oftentimes the person who is affected is in a weakened emotional state, allowing a spirit to enter their mind subconsciencely.
Did you go through any emotionally trying experience directly before this?

Not that I could recall with both questions.
A lot of self-proclaimed "phychics" use a technique called cold reading. Really makes it hard for me to trust someone dwelling in the paranormal.

Cold reading is a big problem with a lot of "phsycics."
It makes me wonder about a good deal of them...
Do you think there are actual phsycics who can see the future or divine informatino which would seem to be impossible through normal means?

I don't really believe in them myself, but I'm not going to totally throw out the possibility of it all being real. Some scientists predict that one day we might be able to predict the future when our primitive brains further evolve. So for me, the jury is still out.

that has happened to me a few times. I heard a discussion about it on the radio one day and it turns out it has happened to allot of people, there's even a word for it but i dont remember what it is and they said there were studies being done but u cant predict when it going to happen. But that was like ten years ago when i heard them talking about it.
Some people also say that you are in a state of astral projection when youre body wakes up but your soul is not back in u yet so youre mind wakes up but not your body, so youre in a paralyzed state.
I was in this squat a few days ago that is a hotel but half of it was burned and i was sleeping and had a dream of that happening to me at least i think it was a dream. But its been awhile since it happened to me, it scares the shit out of me cause i wake up but cant open my eyelids or move my body, ill get a couple of twitches in cause im trying to move but then eventually i get them open and then im fine But it scares the shit out of me because i panick because i dont know what the fucks going on and am usually sweating by the time my paralysis is over.

hey, when you wake up it takes about 30 seconds for your eyes to start sending signals to your brain, and you wake up in stages, so sometimes, your just in a partial sleep mode, so you may not be able to move, and the voices could be dreams. i believe there is some wacky shit out there that you don't wana mess with, and science has yet to explain it

Actually i had a dream like that. Couldn`t sleep stood up - and falled on the ground- couldn`t move and started hearing weird whispers all around and to feel a strange presence. Weird thing - every detail in the dream was like real. Woke up scared shitless.
Didn`t really think it was paranormal. Just ctulhu messing with peoples heads.

don't think i'm strange for saying this, but sometimes when i dream, i will see stuff that's yet to happen. usually has only happened with like films or whatnot(one time with something else, but i wont disclose that). does anyone remembernthat movie Unleashed with Jet Li and Morgan Freeman? i thought that had come out 2 years before it actualy did and just nobody really cared to talk about it. its happened with others one too, but real, who cares?

i think most of its bullshit. paranoia getting the best of us. when it comes to spirits and shit, i mean. but who knows. there's no solid proof out there in favor of or against, as far as i know.
as for that dream shit? i've had that paralysis crap. and yeah, it scares the fuck out of me, too, as i'm sure it does for everyone. its not fun to not be in control of your own body, of all things.
and i have a lot of those ones where you're barely dreaming and you, in example, fall off an edge or something of the sort (as i've done countless times -.-;;), and you wake up and it feels as though you're sinking feet first into your bed for a second, but then realize i'm laying down, which pulls together for an interesting experience that makes me jump because i think i'm actually falling or whatever is happening.
i hope that made sense lol

Meh I might get flamed but its just my belief
I do belive in the Paranormal and I am a Wiccan. I am getting rather intuned with Intuition and at times I get feelings.... Like if something is going to happen or if I should or shouldn't do something. Not like normal thoughts but almost like unexpected nudges. I also have dreams of the future and I had one where my dad's GF had her aunt die and the next day she was in tears talking about her aunt dieing. Only thing that was different was the name.
My fathers GF is a phycic but she supresses her abilities because the predictions ended up scareing her when they took effect, One of them being cancer in a dear friend of hers.
I'm not a expert but simply giveing my opinion.
