a friend asked me to the dance this saturday. i said yes, but i'm really unsure a/b it cuz i'm one of those really awkwardly nervous dancers. And the fact that i've only gone with this one (now ex-)girlfriend to all the dances the last 2 yrs...
so i just need like suggestions on like how to act,dance, everything.
like we're going as friends and she has a bf in college (who isn't going): do i slowdance only with her, or with everyone, or only with people in our group...
and do people talk when they're slow dancing?
and how have you guys conquered your nervousness of not-slow dancing?

If you want to dance with her go ahead. You don't have to though. And just act cool, have a good time. That's what most of our dances were like and I had a blast.

And the way I conquered my nervousness of not-slow dancing: a bunch of girls just swarmed around me and started dancing. Wouldn't let me leave until I danced too. lol

No bear hugs, it makes everyone look retarded. Talking is Really important during a slow dance, so make sure you breath doesn't s***l. Twirl her around a couple of times, and yea, be cool. Lastly, go ahead and dance with whoever the fuck you want to, unless they say no, then back off.

If I feel dumb bout dancing I just do the stupidest moves I kno like The Sprinkler or the Carlton on purpose to make people laugh. usually if they kno me they kno i'm a clown and doin it on purpose, so I'm dancing stupid enjoying myself and making others laugh and relax that thier moves dont suck as bad haha.

Alcohol and winging it is the best advise.

Thats how I feel sometimes. Ready to throw myself in front of a bullet for a friend/family, but not much for jumpin out of the way of a bullet.

But seriously making others laugh, knowing they are happy and in a good mood is what gets me in a good mood and makes me happy. If theres someone sad, I cant ignore that so easily.

But when I get mad... its not pretty. Not that I'm violent but I get pretty destructive.
