View Full Version : Damn shop-security portals....

Ok, almost all shops here have these security-portalts at the entrance of the store, one at each side of the door. Makes shop-lifting tough without making the allarm goes off, which is always a pain in the ass and bad for your blood-pressure... ;)

*im not sure how sensitive these portals are, and if they will ring when ur only in a few feet range of them, no knowledge about that and could mess up some plans below

I have a few techniques, but not sure if they all work; hear em:
- easiest one is probably to not walk through the two portals, but to pass around them*, when there is space available, make sure no-one notices
- take off the wrappings, and steal only the object, not the box
- cut out/off the alarm-strip (works well for clothing, you can do it in the changing-cabins and will only leave a rly small incision which you can have stiched closed neatly for 5,-)
- Put it in a bag (no!! not the one with the shop-label printed on it!), and put it on your sholder, so its above the portals, not passing diretly trough it*
- Perhaps wrapping it in aluminium foil.... seriously no idea though
- For clothes shops (especially if there is bad lighting), ask if you can walk outside with a piece of clothing to check the color (chose a really weird orange-red or something). Then they will turn it off, and your friend (whom you have never met before) can walk with you outside with shit in his pockets and run off.
- take something else from a different shop (perhaps you have friends workign at a shop), and KEEP THE ALARM ON IT. then enter a different shop with this thing, take and hide what you want, and when the alarm rings, you pull out that thing with the alarm on it, claiming it was that (you bought it 5 mins ago) and that they forgot to take the alarm off.

yeah... or just run like fuck....

any1 has more ideas or knows which one work or not?
also, does any1 know waht it is in the product (box) that makes the alarm goes off, clothes often have the big plug, but can even the strip-code make the alarm go off (is that scanned?).
i'll try to find out how these portals actually work.

if its a mall, you could pay for a few things and when you get to the portal, slide the thing through so that makes it go off, but when the guard comes to check your receipt, everythings been paid for, i have no clue about this but it sound like a good idea

Ive been trying to figure this one out for a while. I havent been able to find what the cashiers have at the registers to disable those little things but if you were able to find that and just carry it in with you (perhaps a small magnet) then you could disable the alarms and walk out with the items....

clever one, but there are multiple different alarm detectors, one might work for one thing, but not for the other, and remember: if you fail, ur fucked... the error bar is zero, tahs the sucky thing: u cant experiment, u gotta be sure.

Wiki however stated that wrapping in aluminium is effective against ANY detector of such a kind. wrapping it up with standard aluminium foil a couple of times should work for most, wrapping it up untill 30x will work FOR ANY DETECTOR!!! (you could make a bag with 30 layers on the inside for instance).

first off where are you tryin to steal from?

most of the time the thing that sets off the detectors is a little sticker type thing that is roughly 2" x 1/2" x 1/8-1/4" (length x width x height). sometimes the sticker things are fake though. this is mostly talking about the stuff you encounter in walmart/target/etc.

btw i highly recommend that noone steals from target due to targets ridiculous amount of effort put in to catching the people who steal from there. if you wanna know more about that find the nightline episode about shoplifting and they focus on targets efforts on stopping shoplifters

I used to steal a lot of stuff from shops at one point. You just get a bag and but the whole inner walls full of foil. It used to work atleast. But now i hear the detectors are better. And also if you get caught with one of these bags, it will be worse than just the normal shoplifting.

Here`s a really good way to steal. I laughed weeks about this one:
I was hanging out with this band that came to play in our city. Really shit-punks. So we were at a store and the vocalist steals basicly everything that he can get his hands on in there.
After what he shoves something into a pocket of a person walking by. Then he waited for the guy to go into the detector - so the machines go #Beeb# and the guys just walk through them while they are checking the guy out =)

sapoivly thier is an eletromagntic field that the bar code interferes with because theres strips of metal in it that r magnetized too, thats y the bag with alumion works, maybe a huge ass elctro magnetic generator placed by them would set them off and u could walk though after they r trying to fix it.
