should people share there religion with others? i.e. try to convert people or use propaganda

i want this thread to be about the thought is spreading religion saving or killing people.

I think it is toatally fine for people to tell others about their religion. but not froceing it down anyones throught or trying to convert people. if a person hears about a religion, then they should make the free choice weather or not to follow it or not.

but spreading it really isnt doing either now a days.. it's just annoying the piss out of everyone.

the only reason religion exist is becuz it is spread. So if people didnt share religion then it wouldnt exist.

I think dielen means that if you want to spread religion, try to make it look great and worth following. Remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. (Not really true because flies actually like vinegar better, but you get the point)

no. i do not agree with the idea of trying to get others to convert. i used to have to go to a baptist church and a main part of it was to spread the word of god in any given situation. it always bothered me that they were forcing ideas into people's heads. what bothered me even more was when they made you feel like dirt and demanded you convert or risk sucking for the rest of your life and then dying painfully. i always felt liek saying "if you're so great and good, why are you going out of your way to make me feel liek shit? i'm pretty certain the entire new testament is against judging me in such a way"


HOWEVER
if a person is openly trying to learn about a religion, then by all means, share it with him. also, i am not against studying a religion simply to learn about it, rather than actually follow it.

If someone wants to know what I think or believe, they're going to ask.
I'm not gonna have a crucifix shoved up my ass.
If I want to hear someone's beliefs I'll ask, thanks.
So, no, don't spread your religion.
I agree with leading by example.
If Christians weren't so obnoxious there wouldn't be as much of an issue.
