View Full Version : Anyone read the Kama Sutra?

I bought a copy of the Kama Sutra a while back at a bookstore. I find it to be an interesting read, mostly because of how it illustrates many seemingly impossible sexual positions. Its kinda ironic that the original writer had a very wild imagination, even though he was abstinent. Anyone ever read this book? If you have, did it improve some aspects of your relationship, like sex?

I saw a little bit of it once but I never really delved deeply into it. I try to keep my sexual activity to a minimum...

I hear the kama sutra is pretty odd...it even refers to teeth as sexual organs (according to my friend)
Never actually read it. I prefer practicing over studying in this case.
::EDIT:: Seriously freetibet? What the fuck is the point of that?

well a man needs some loving sometimes lol but in my opinion sexual intercourse before marriage is a sin, so I try not to do it.
Its kinda hard when a girl is on top of you and asks though... :D

I'm not that kind of a religious person... I don't believe in 'hell' or heaven'
I just try to lead the best life I can. This is really more of a topic for religion though lol

A little joke: If you are planning on reading the Kama Sutra and using the sexual techniques provided, please consult your doctor/yoga instructor to see if you're ready!

I got that at home, and a lot of the stuff on it look pretty kinky. Of course I think all of the "hard work" from doing that and doing a bit of learning from the ancients will pay off when you're able to have very satisfying and exciting sex with a significant other, which is a plus in my book.

I've flipped through it a few times. I really do have to buy a copy, some of it looks soooo sick. Haha.

If you're planning on buying a copy of the Kama Sutra, get one of the more modern versions of it. The original unchanged copy of the book was written many years ago, meaning that other elements in the text like how to court are out of date. Also the more modern texts focus more on sex, and teach of lesser known techniques; such as hitting a woman's grafenberg spot or practicing kegel excercises. Places like Spencer's Gifts are bound to sell these books if your looking to buy.

Yeah, I've seen newer ones and the older ones. I somewhat want an older version, just for the novelty. And I like the less focus on just sex, it's interesting you know. Spencers? Haha, I don't think I've seen one in there actually.
Has anyone personally tried anything from it? Like some really... cool?

I bought a copy in Spencer's called The Little Black Book of the Kama Sutra, and when I brought the book up to the cashier he gave me a chuckle and a smile, probably knowing I was underage at the time. And it is good to buy the original too, as you can treat it like a bible. Sure the Christian Bible is the good book, but the Kama Sutra is the better book!

Amen to that. I always get chuckles when I buy anything sexual, I mean, I don't think I look that young, but they always seem to know. Buying condoms will still remain the most akward experience for me I think.
I'm also nerdy with books, and I would love an original older copy just to add to my bookshelf. Well, I'd probably keep it hidden from the ma. I'm definately going to start browsing around for one. =D
