View Full Version : How to beat the censor

I'm not sure if this has been spoken of before, but we are not allowed to use certain words. Just some are f***** (f*****) and *****. (*****). I feel this is stupid since this site mainly rejects what is considered normal in most societies. *(Note: I did not say anarchists, that's stupid.)*
So how do I do it? Simple really!!! I use the black text color bbcode tag. for example, if I wanted to type f*****. I would do this. fr[CO LOR="Black"]i[/CO LOR]dge. (Without the space in between the CO and LOR.) You can just click the A with the black line. http://i36.tinypic.com/33nxdox.jpg (that shows a pic of it.) on one of the letters.
So why do it? It's fucked up that a poser little bitch called "The Anarchist" figures that he gets to institute his own rules, and it is especially fucked up that he should attempt to censor the internet. So,
***** f*****
Won't he block these then? No, probably not, there are so many possible combinations, it would take too much work. Anyways, does anybody else know any censored words?

not that hard to figure out that that defeats the filter...

I know, and that's not the point, this is for people who never realized. I also didn't know if it hadn't been covered, this isn't some awesome "pwn" tut. or whatever, this is just mainly a public defiance of that bitch, The Anarchist.

i just dont get why f***** is blocked

It's the combination of r-i-d-g-e.
"*****" is apart of "f*****, and thus the "*****" part is censored.

when i finish the site i'm working on nothing will be censored. People will just be able to talk about whatever the hell they want.
except trolls of course...

Actually, if he were the programmer type, it wouldn't be hard at all. Same idea that a decent XSS filter runs by. But instead of recursive filtration of HTML characters, you could have recursive filtration of censored words.
Just have a preprocessor for the BBCode that recursively filters the input string. Not hard at all.
But, he's a lazy jackass, so I don't see him doing that.

or! he could compare only characters that were not within tags, so that it didnt matter where you put the tags, it would recognize it, and you'd be reduced to only being able to write r idge.....
edit: which could also be filtered pretty easily

i'd write an algorithm that also scans the string for character proximity and would keep track of which characters are where, and attempt to match them to censored words, but would not block a word containing the censored word (to mitigate the bullshit where ***** is blocked, and f***** is still partially blocked.)

well, the thing with a site like this is that you dont want to compromise speed, so while you're at it, why not make a bit of a genetic algorithm to continually make itself faster using a memoized hash lookup for recently found combinations?

the thing about a genetic algorithm is that its not normally fed absurdly awkward data like formatted strings. I'd say just a mere memoization of strings would be fairly fast.. but at the same time it'd be horrifically resource consuming after a few days or weeks.
Reason being is that you'd have idiots like Mass who would write a bruteforcing solution to just enter garbage into it (such as strings nested in hundreds of levels of BBCode tags).
I'm actually kind of curious as to the efficiency of a lookup table after it reaches a certain size. I mean, raw calculations are always going to be time consuming, but after a while... searching the table would start to lag as well.
Hmmm... maybe if you combined a MapReduce algorithm with a recursive filter of sorts... seems like it has potential.

that's the intention of the genetic algo, to find a better search method as the table grows....alternately, you could just ask google for a piece of their sourcecode...according to recent trends, they might well give you it....

Good job, your proficiency in the English language is astounding. Your argument is also null, because every time you post, you are perpetuating what you think makes me an idiot. That is, informing someone that posting on a dead topic is frowned upon.

lmao, Still censors will report to a syslog with the redirecting information, tho you may beat the censorship software, your IP is still being logged and monitored locally either to a log file or to a fat white guy in a little administration room trying not to do his job by looking at playboys. heh... If it were me, then i'd check the time of the log, and or if there was a login sheet you write your name in, i'd know wtf you were doing, then go to your house while you are sleeping and beat your ass. haha
