ok mostlly in new york but also in other places parents are starting to figure out that kids are using salvia to get high and are know completely against it and trying to make it illegal though none of them know exactly what it does and they are blaming alot of shit on it like some kid commiting suicide while smoking it saying he smoked salvia and then 30 min. later he jumped off a roof and they blamed the salvia on his suiced when it's major effects only last about 10 min. just major bullshit

but he didnt do it because of weed, he did salvia and then killed himself after the major effects of it wore off, and there is no actual proof that weed, or salvia, increases depression. There is however alot of proof that alcohol does cause people to be more depressed, and many many more people kill themselves when drunk, why does that get to be legal, but pot and other drugs not? it's much more damaging.....

Alcohol gets to be legal because people rebeled against prohibition. Plus, you can drink and be responsible and not have permanent damage done to you. Theres really no way you can get high responsibly and then stay the way you are.

only reason any drug is illegal is because of racism. for example, when coke was legal people said cocaine crazed niggers. there were some stories that when black men took coke they would rape white girls and they gained superhuman strength so police couldn't stop them. then some people got it banned. there's little stories like this for all illegal drugs. now the government won't repeal the laws because they don't have the balls to admit they made a mistake. especially after all the billions they spent on fighting drugs and all the anti drug policies started in other countries.

newsflash, weed is SOMEWHAT legal in alaska, goto findlaw.com and check it out. and salvia will always stay legal. The federal analog act generally requires that, in order to qualify as an analog, a substance must be chemically similar to a substance which is federally scheduled. Salvia Divinorum is chemically quite different from other scheduled substances and as a plant is quite unlikely to be targeted by this act.

Louisiana -
Effective Aug 8, 2005 (signed into law Jun 28, 2005) Louisiana Act No 159 makes 40 plants illegal, including S. divinorum, when intended for human consumption. The law specifically excludes the "possession, planting, cultivation, growing, or harvesting" of these plants if used "strictly for aesthetic, landscaping, or decorative purposes." bullshit aint it.
Missouri -
On Aug 28, 2005 House Bill 633 was incorporated into 195.017 of Missouri's drug regulation statutes. Thus, Salvia and salvinorin A became Schedule I substances in that state. Missouri is the first state in the U.S. to actually schedule s. divinorum or its active chemical.
St. Peters city passed an ordinance banning sales of Salvia divinorum to minors aged 17 or younger.
HB165 introduced in state legislature, proposing addition of S.divinorum to list of scheduled substances. No hearing scheduled as of Jan 2005. (MO House of Representatives)
New Jersey -
New Jersey lawmakers are reportedly considering a ban of Salvia which i believe was proposed very recently, beginning of May.
New York -
New York is moving to control Salvia divinorum.
Tennessee has made it a class A misdemeanor to "knowingly produce, manufacture, distribute, possess or possess with intent to produce, manufacture, or distribute the active chemical ingredient in the hallucinogenic plant Salvia divinorum A." Along with the strangely-worded caveat that this prohibition does not apply to "the possession, planting, cultivation, growing, or harvesting of such hallucinogenic plant strictly for aesthetic, landscaping, or decorative purposes." The law takes effect on July 1, 2006.

but i think it should stay legal....there are worse things in this world than salvia....
