The Velvet Underground were the essential musical influence of 'Punk'
the attitude can be traced back to Gustave Courbet and also the roots came thru the Dadaists and the Beat movement.
My personal Grandfather of Punk is Adam, now Fuck Right Off.:)

Iggy is awesome. Propably he was one of the founders. Im sure that he founded the stage diving.
Velvet Underground did a lot too.
