ok so im no where near the best when i comes to computers. but i do have a couple of friends who are really good.

but anyways a while back i was on the laptop (dell) and it had been getting gradually slow. but all of a sudden i received the blue screen of death. i've went though everything it will let me do. but i still cant get it working. my friends said that i would just have to re-install windows xp. which wouldnt be that much of a problem except that this computer is my mom's computer that she uses for work.

i was just wondering if there is anything else i might be able to do. or am i just fucked.

when that happens you are pretty much fucked lol, you can try a repair with one of the windows disks. they will ask if you would like to try a repair try it and see if that works

Yeah, run a linux disk, back up all the data onto a thumb drive, and then reboot. Even if you fix it, you'll probably have driver issues riddling you for the rest of the time on the computer.
