i was thinking about electro magnetic pulse genorators ( i wanna make a strong one to mess with the local power) and i was thinking,,,, could you make a electro magnetic pulse genorator that the wireing made an open circt when exposed to high magnetivity,, and if so, could you make an electro magnetic pulse genorator just by having a power suppy, suppy a electro magnet and have it flash on and off as it made a magnetic field ?

i think its a good idea i don't know if it is... please comment

It might be possible to have it switch off as soon as there's a magnetic field, you could just make a small part of the wiring out of iron, and the magnet would rip it out. A fuse would be a safer choice though, and probably a bit easier too.

you could use a mercury switch with a piece of magnetic metal extending out of the middle perpindicular to the switch itself, that way when the magnet was turned on it would pull the switch vertical, thus cutting the connection. you would need a pivot of some sort though

Large scale EM generators are just far too complex for the average punter. Once you get large enough to fuck with the power supply you will have raised suspicion with all the copper wire you have purchased. Also EM on a large scale has the possibility to fuck up anything in your immediate vacinity thats made of iron or nickel.

Anyway, I had an idea for a small scale EMP (When I say small scale, I mean tiny. The electronic device would have to be right next to it.)

Materials:
- Aluminum tube (Size To Be Established)
- Copper wire (Enough to make a coil around the aluminum tube)
- Fire crackers
- Target electronic device

Procedure:
- Wrap the copper wire around the alumium tube to make a coil.
- Put the fire crackers inside the alumium tube.
- Put the target electronic device infront of the opening (3 to 5 inches, should be enough... no?)
- Light the fire crackers.

I know this sounds like I've done it before..... But I haven't.

Would this actually work, or am I just completely wrong?

Wicked long extension cord, or a shitload of car batteries. The idea with the mercury switch is really good, didn't think of that. I only waste my mercury switches on explosives, but I might try to make one with magnetic materials in it, just to see if it works.

But first I'll try to write a tutorial topic on EMP, covering the basic principles of EMP, since I'm guessing that would make the actual construction of an EMP device a lot easier.

You were standing all of 5-10m away from an "explosive device", WITHOUT COVER, what would you do if you got hit in the eye by a piece of stray metal or plastic from the aerosol can? You also started a fucking fire in the middle of nothing but brush and trees. You could have at least taken that shit down to a riverbed or somewhere where you wouldn't start a bushfire.

2. i think that if you had a plastic/ not magnetic material with a pice of iron in it, and have the wires poke through, then when the feield comes on the iron slides up in the plastic and cuts the circut, witch would crash the feild, witch would drop the iron, witch would re-start the feild :)

Fire + plastic = ***tage = no plastic shards.

The can was pointing upwards, the weakest point of the can being the join with the top and the cylindrical part of the can, thats the part that'll break first under the pressure.
I say pressure, because the heat from the surrounding fire makes the air inside the can expand, until the joint with the top and the cylinder canister breaks and all the gas inside is released.

Don't think i haven't done my research.

in order to make an EMP, you NEED to have an electromagnetic field. build a giant coil around a iron pipe filled with explosives(if you can get your hands on a I-beam, do it and get me a few haha) now you need to amplify the power from whatever source your using to create a VERY powerful magnet. then detonate. one of these that can fit in the bed of a pick-up is about enough to wipe out 5 square miles or any electrical devices. smaller ones can be good for de-bugging your house should you be under investigation.
