Can anyone tell me if this would be a good idea, or even possible?

Hacking into a news station during winter, and putting your school onto the list of closed schools, so everyone thinks you have off!!
Would that even be possible or am I wasting my time contemplating this?

or change the schools website to say snow day
my school board says it on there website i have changed it locally a few times to trick my mom

defacing your school site might be hard but just call the radio station and try and fake being from the school board

When you call in to cancel they will ask you who you are and what school you are from, 9/10 times its either the principal or superintendant that cancels. For this to work it must be on a day when other schools in the county cancel which is when all the other schools in the area cancel, so do it then to seem legit. Second of all they are most likely going to ask you for some kind of confirmation word or phrase, or whatnot, you will need this to be succesful, to find this ...be creative, or fake it and say you are new and unaware. Or just go slash all the bus tires before school.

If I knew where the bus lot was... I would go slash all the tires right away.
I'll probably just call in and try, and then tell them it's a prank if they catch me and hang up and run.

You could just alter the code a little on your school website to make it look like its a snow day. Much easier than fraud...

Just right click, get the source code, make it look like your having a snow day, and show your mommy. Been a while since i've done it but you should be able to get it without much effort, you don't even really need to know any programming languages
