Is there any way to get past these with somekind of metal on you? Such as knifes and stuff. I've read some where that any metal under the ankles won't get detected.

i don't know about that with the stuff under the ankle.
I made it through with a nail scissor in my pocket, but i didn't even know that i got it until when i got on the plane :p
