I want to go to a flea market to pick up some cheap knives and other random crap, but I live about an hour from all flea markets i found online and in the paper.
Will I be able to find as many knives and cool crap at a thrift store? If not, what type of store could i try?
Btw, I don't want to buy anything online

i don't know about pawn shops, but you can get some pretty weird stuff at flea markets. The ones in downtown have brass knuckles and butterfly knives, but thats about it. just make the hour long drive to the flea market.

i don't mind if its crappy, i'm just looking for a throwing knife and a butterfly knife to play around with; i probably won't break them. like i said, i live too far away from the local flea markets (and they got crappy reviews online)
i think i might try out a pawn shop

what ever you do DO NOT get a shitty butterfly knife! it will brake no matter how care full you are get quality. the shitty ones will break and some times come back and hurt you when it does break. like mine, im lucky i didnt loose my life when it broke, but it came off the handle and almost stabbed my frend in the chest if he hadnt seen me playing with it he would be dead and i would be in jail because of it. so go for the more expensive quality knive, because if you go with crap then you will still spend the same amount of money on cheap ones in a year or two as you would with one good one that will last and last and last. so just go with quality and spend the money so you dont get hurt.

online.....
there's cheap balisongs, then there's cheaply made ones, its a fine distinction.
there's a video on youtube where the dude breaks a really shitty one in his hands and then recommends buying a nice $100+ one. you can usually tell which ones are absolute shit and which ones are okay, but the only one i have so far is just a metal blade pegged to two plastic handles, cost me a dollar (and one of the pegs or whatever fell off and now it has a chunk of chain link fence holding it together)....anyway it was cheap as hell but not exactly shit, because i know it's limitations and such. basically if it doesn't bend and costs under $10 its probably worth buiying just to play with. just try to avoid getting one that has handles made up of two pieces of thin metal cause that was the style of the shitty one in the video that the guy bent to shit in his hand.....mine has plastic handles but they're durable cause they're solid plastic with a groove for the blade instead of two pieces that go around the blade on each handle.
i'd just go to walmart, get a little 88 cent folder and try to throw that (i did that which is why the one i have a pic of on the collections thread is now held together by a skateboard screw).....or those nice winchester knives they're selling in sets for xmas (the fixed blade on in the $10 sets looks like it'd be good to try to throw)
anyway i'd look at hardware stores, autoparts stores sometimes sell folders and such, and of course army navy surplus stores always have that shit......or just buy some cheap kitchen knives and throw them
but still flea markets and the internet are pretty much the best answers

usually, idk i've found some weird shit in a few though. not sure about a balisong but you should be able to find an inexpensive somewhat balanced knife to throw, depends on the particular store i guess.
gotta love the 88 cent walmart folding knife, just threw that shit through my dart board, it was kinda cool (took 3 tries though, so now my wall is even more fucked up in that area)

If you have a Big 5 Sporting goods in your town or near by check frequently there for knives, often they will have knives like Smith and Wesson extreme ops, they are special designed big bulky 440 titanium, and will never break under normal or high use, don't be a fool and buy a knife that could break off when you need it.
