Firstly. Martial Arts and boxing are competitions where 2 fighters are pitted against each other both adherring to a sets of rules. In a "street fight" there are no rules, making pretty much most martial arts techniques or boxing techniques practically useless. If your 5"10 and wiegh 10 stone and hes 6"3 and wieghs 16 stone a few flying kicks and chops isnt going to do you much good.
I hear alot of guys on here saying that they would, in a fight, wait for the right opportunity to strike and then counter with thier own punch or grapple. I disagree, and this is what I think.
From my experiance there are only 3 things you will ever need to win a street fight.
Speed
Suprise
Aggression
Once you have commited yourself to a fight, you must crack into it as hard as you can, apply maximum aggression and get it done. Dont throw jabs at the guys face, launch your wieght behind the punch, thats where the power is. Always try to throw the first punch and never ever hesitate, keep going, keep your momentum. The best time to throw a punch is always after your last. Knees, elbows, fists are your best bet. Try not to kick, if someone grabs your leg mid kick then your going down to the floor. And once your down its pretty hard to get that big 16 stone bastard off of you.
Phew, anyway thats what I think, feel free to comment.

i'm sick of all the how to fight threads...
just be nice, half of people who fight lose.
plus there's too many different variables and situations and such to have one set way of doing anything. but generally speaking you're right.
i'd say overwhelming and extreme violence instead of just agression, fight quick and extre***y dirty, use whatever is around you and use it well....
but ya whatever, fuck it.
just chill people

I just throw my weight around and think about something messed up to get my adrenaline rushing.
I can take a kick or 5 to the temple when I'm running on adrenaline.

Krav maga, its always practical, always an option, there are no rules.
People, you need to be able to ADAPT! If you can't try something unexpected by both you and the fucker messing with you, you can't win. I mean, you could win, but surprise his ass when it hits the ground.
If your serious about this fight or not a minor, don't throw the first punch, otherwise the other guy can sue your ass straight to hell. Let your opponent strike first and try and block it. Then, fuck him up as much as you want.

why do we have another one on this? why not just add to the original? and i have to disagree with the original most in a few areas. i think that fighting out of aggression or rage is the wrong thing to do. This will cloud your mind and prob. lead to a lost fight. if all you consentrate on is throwing the as many punches as fast as posible it will lead to a bunch of weak not very well placed and prob. mostly unlanded punches.
and as far as the flying kicks comment, i dont think any one actually expects to use the karate kid moves, however alot of those programs will teach you how to block and counter punch wich is very usefull.

Yea, you do that, then tell us how fun prison is. Unless they are on your property, or if your in texas and they are on your property and you feel threatened ( In this situation you have every right to shoot them), shooting someone is not excusable in a fist fight. If they haven't injured you seriously, what gives you the authority to instantly take a life.

well boxing.. actually can help, because.. yeah there are rules but... you dont have to follow them. same with martial arts.
alot of it can be used in a street fight, if you dont set your mind into compitition mode.
cus remeber all those things were used to actually fight and even kill people.
also if you are trained in millitary or corectional officer martial artsm the whole conter graple thing, will fuck a person right up.

One thing everyone seems to have forgotten, stamina and endurance. A common training tactic of many instructors/senseis or whatever the hell you want to call them is to brutally wear-down the students with vigorous fitness work and then do mentally stressing combat drills. If you too tired to keep going you will invariably end up wearing shots all over yourself.

Boxing would help in a street fight, or wrestling. But other MMA styles wouldn't such as: Muay Thai, and BJJ. Street fights are a lot about luck, strength and toughness. If you can take a punch there's a good chance you're going to win a fight, no matter how strong/big the guy is. My buddy Lance has about 6 videos of me fighting, and the other person was always a couple years older than me, and I'd come out standing. I was raised fighting so I can take a punch, but the other people I fought didn't fight that much so they couldn't take that hard of a punch. Oh and the reason I fought people older than me is because I'm only 15 and I don't like fighting people younger than me because they're weak, and when you're 15-17 you're both about the same strength. =D

Most fights don't last over 10 seconds lol. The best fighter I know is known as the one hitter quitter.
lol this guy ran from 8 niggers til he got to a b***** corridor so he wouldn't get piled and was only enough room for one at a time lol he took them til the 5th guy then they ran.
And thats when I got my old man to teach me how to power hit.

watch that shit..hahaha.
Also. Aggression does nothing to help you fight if your opponent can counterstrike. Just look at Lyoto Machida, or anyone else who knows bruce lees art shit. Opportunistic strikes. and pacquiao proved speed > raw strength against de la hoya hehehe.
REMEMBER!! Wrist control establish wrist control then pull out the gun. They are afraid of the gun haha (just watch the damn video)
