So I thought of god. First I was contradicting the whole idea of the existence of god, but then I thought of this theory… There is no God, no divine entity in the sky that rates us from good to evil and judges us from past wrongs. There is only now, and now is what matters. The Theory goes like this:
We are gods of our own world. We control and manipulate our surroundings, we are in total control of everything that happens in our lifetime, and we choose how to experience these experiences. And if we choose to praise an outside force for our creation rather then praise that which deserves our praise then that is our own downfall. Lets go back, What gives us life? The answer to this question is The Earth Gives Us Life, But what gives the Earth Life? The Sun gives the earth life. Without the sun we wouldn’t be around, and no natural life upon the earth would exist without the sun. So which deserves our praise? This invisible Imaginary entity outside of time and space or that which is currently giving us life? We are gods of our own worlds, everything we experience in this lifetime is what we choose to experience, and in this world of gods we have the opportunity to do anything that is within us to do, the sky is the limit, we are gods of our own life. Im sure there is a flaw in this theory as their is in every theory, but for some reason I rather give thanks and recognition to that which I KNOW to be real, rather than that which I have been told WAS REAL. I have never been an embracer of blind faith so I stand now and speak blasphemy upon all the holy books, and idea’s and religion that stand here on earth to present my own current personal philosophy of the nature of the word GOD. In my theory there is no divine entity outside time and space that rates us for our earthly deeds, there is only now, and now we are living a life that we are in control of. We are gods of our own world.

I was afraid this theory bordered on satanism... but its a theory that has been hard for me to put down, now that i have thought about it to such an extent.

Don't you fucking hate it when u make a lengthy post but then to have it deleted accidently!!! &*%&*! ok, i'll recap most of what i said:
Can't find any obvious flaws to point out but (there's always a but to everything) ah, dnt know how i'm gonna complete this sentence, i just have the word 'but' trailling off my mind. I'll start over.
I can see how our lives and existence depends on nature, and tht without it we would be ziltch. So worshipping nature as some religions have already started doing..ah i just want to point out something i subconsciously added to this previous sentence " so worshipping.." why do i assume tht with a source tht we depend on comes with tht the need for us to worship it?? tht probably dnt make sense, but it got me curious, i mean what is the reason for us to worship whatever we depend on? i have no fucking answer apart from the one my parents gave me during my upbringing.. 'To show our gratitude. but i can't really classify tht as my answer just the answer my parents gave me and the answer my granparents gave my parents. i say 'cnt classify tht as my answer' because i...oh i don't know..i been rambling on and totally missed the mark of the other crap i'd been saying in my deleted post...oh well, have fun over the confusion of my post! :D

Im sure we would all change our beliefs if we had proof of a divine entity. Me personally yes. If i had proof that their was such a thing as a god and not some imaginary figure then im sure all my central beliefs and idea's would collapse upon themselves.

if there was proof of god, i have to say hey look its that god guy everyone keeps talkin but, but i still be skeptical of his motives, and wouldnt be like OH EM GEE!!! its God!! look everyone God has graced us with his presence lets all bow or burn the non believers now!
I'd still think well why is he so special that i have to devote time and energy on him??? HUH!! answer me that!!

Maybe because being selfish is the only thing you know how to do. I mean, what greater calling is there than do devoting your life to something?

curing cancer??
yea i am selfish and its not a bad thing, but not the only thing i kno how to do, why would you assume such a thing!

Lol. Curing cancer. you would have to devote your life to that to be able to accomplish it.

well then you win cause i cant think of something greater, well i mean i can for me, but not for anyone else.
ps. what if someone found the cure accidentally, like they spilled grape juice into some chemicals while taking a tour of a science lab for the cure of cancer??

... apparantly people have found cures for cancer,
there was some guy who was said to have done it with some light or sound wave device he made... something like that anyway.
but we all know how much those big pharmacy companies make on cancer medication and chemo, and how much they'd lose if someone found a cure.
and i think if there is a god, he must be very sadistic. letting things get this bad and all.

I only skimmed over it, but I actually started to think that at first (about the Satanism). Good theory though.

Yeah.. its a hard theory to find fault in. We are gods of our own world.. Such things is sometimes beyond most people's comprehension, they are afraid to think beyond what they are told. To be able to think beyond everything you have ever been told and taught takes a certain willpower to seek answers in different areas, that you have been told was forbidden to tread.

I think we're all starving for a God. We need someone to pick up the mess.

Interesting theory, Exial. I believe that perception is indeed a far greater influence on our lives than we take it to be.

i agree. how we percieve everything is how we see reality, through different kinds of perception. Why dont you explain more of why you believe perception to hold impact on our life.

Ironic I got this email just the second I started listening to 'God' the song.
But also I believe in Tao....Tao explains everything. I like using the I Ching oracle.

Your theory is very, very close to what I came to believe sometime in '07.
Every human exists to provide meaning to their life, in effect, they are their own god.
Some people choose to give up that meaning to religion, thinking that the world is far too complex or messed up to actually sort out without a god.
Some people choose to make it up as they go.
Some people devote themselves to a meaningful cause.
In the end, it doesn't matter what you do... it matters what meaning you gave your life.
It's a bit more complex than just that, but it's the basic jist.
And yes, it is strikingly close to Satanism, depending on whether or not it's theistic Satanism or LaVey Satanism. Big difference.
