EMP Generator

Hello,
Does anybody know how to make an Electromagnetic Pulse generator? I'm thinking cheap, but that's not the biggest priority. I need a relatively safe way to make it, but also want it to be smaller while still powerful. I'm thinking powerful enough to kill or damage electronics in a 20 foot radius. I'm probably thinking of something a little too idealized, but really any kind of plan or suggestion would help. I just want to make sure i won't send 1000 volts through my body while i'm experimenting, so i hope someone out there has some experience.

i checked out your thread. Doesn't seem like anybody has given you anything really substantial. Let me know if you get something that works. My goal is to be safe, because i dn't feel like dying. you said you were successful before right? is it possible maybe to scale it down and have it work in a close vicinity or for smaller electronics? My big goal is portable.
