PW cracking problems

so yes, i've heard of ophcrack, ntfs, and pc login now. they all dont work for different reasons. any help at all would be useful

ophcrack just doesn't crack it. im sure the pw is long and complicated anyway.

ntfs loads fine however, once i get to the step where it asks for the path, it stops working, no matter what i type.

pc login now, loads the kernel, however, where it says what intel processor i have, it just stop and does nothing more. the disk is fine, i burned 2

so basically, do u have any advice on the errors here or on other programs that have worked for you. it has to be a bootable cd, i cant install cain and abel w/o an ***** account pw.

i have heard of austrumi but i would like to know more about it before i do anything.

oh and i have vista home premium.

i am not sure if this works on vista
but when you restart go into safe mode and on xp there is an icon for making a new ***** account try that

you could try a live cd of ubuntu and then run cain an abel off that

right... i'll go and try something much more complicated when there are simpler methods out there. besides, cain and abel is something that probably wont work. anyways, i tried hirens boot cd, which needed to load a whole bunch of non-existent drivers. anything else?

cain and abel with a live cd is as simple as it gets
it is not the programs causing the problems it is you
there is no way 3 programs do not work on your machine

oh sure thanks for blaming me. however, i am pretty sure the pw is very complicated so i kinda want to just delete it here.

so yeah, i think the 3 programs just dont work.

and with a brute forcer like cain it does not matter how complicated it is, it is the longer strings that are harder... aaaaa is just as hard as 4%sRd to brute force assuming you are running with all key possibilities besides the standar a-z, 1-9
so maybe you should learn a couple things before you run your mouth

the password is between six to 10 characters. brute forcers input about 30 pws per second take, maybe a few years?

if it takes u that long u have a shitty cpu, but assuming u bought ur computer with Vista maybe ur talking outta ur ass that it runs that many passwords anyways, if its this long an complicated, then why not ask/bribe/threaten the main user for it. or if u dont care about the other user, bring it in to get reformated and download vista onto a cd to install and call it in if its legitmate to get another authorization key

i have an intel core 2 quad. the main user is my dad. and im not reinstalling anything.

i saw ur tut. it seems pretty straightforward, however, im first gonna need a bootable CD w/ a small operating system, then somehow i need to then open cain and abel using that operating system, even though the file is in windows, then somehow tweak it to work for windows.

ok. just two questions then. how do i open cain and abel in linux and how do i set it to work for windows?

I sort of know the password now, due to something else. It is 11 characters long and i know 10 of them, and the rough placement of the eleventh. is there any way i can configure ophcrack to run a brute force where i type in part of the password and it can guess the rest?

yes you can set it so it starts at the 10 characters solved and then just leave the last one as a
or just guess it then...

i guessed it. the trick was to use the UAC prompt cuz it doesn't lock you out for like 30 secs every five guesses.

otherwise, i know that it will be changed by at least tommorow. i have full ***** control til then. i created a pw reset USB but i would prefer to have a keylogger on hand.

since there are so many, i seek advice.

im looking for a invisible keylogger that i can access without using a ***** pw.

dont have the money. well i might have a solution, get my dad to type the pw in my account for some reason like installing an update, while using the keylogger.
