alright, about a month ago, i came up with an idea, i thought it was brilliant...

the idea was to make a potato cannon with a twist: i was making it out of a pen, and i was ensuring that no part of the pen was damaged (complete portability, it would still be a working pen, no cop would think of thinking it was a deadly weapon).....on my first attempt, around a month ago, i accidentally broke the pen in half (it was a piece of shit)...today i found another pen which i thought would withstand the abuse i would have to do to it....and it came apart, and the barrel of it had a smaller part at the end to ensure the flame doesnt just go around the projectile...it was perfect...so i started to cut a touch hole in it (the only thing i would need would be a touch hole, all the other holes, and the cap were already there...hence the perfection).....so i cut the touch hole, (i didnt actually expect the touch hole to work right, thought i would accidentally cut too big of a hole...aparently i didnt...)....now i just needed a projectile...i thought one of the little airsoft gun bullets would be a great starter, so i got one of them.....

Of course, last month my brother was here, and he uses axe deodorant, i was going to use that as a fuel for it...now he is at some diagnosis center to figure out what meds he needs, and he took his axe with him...i dont have any fuckin fuel to test it with!!!!!!! i tried hairspray, but it wouldnt vaporize...(non arosol, no pressure in the can, comes out as a liquid)

so my brilliant idea (atleast in my eyes) which is essentially a zip gun but less dangerous, and reusable will have to wait until i get some sort of propellant...damn it!!!! .....or maybe i should use lighter fluid from my lighter...i think i might do that....

whell, i almost lit the pen on fire....(if i hadnt noticed that it was burning, i wouldnt have a pen anymore....)....so lighter fluid wont work....

its going to be difficult to get an oxygen fuel ratio in such a small area try alcohol. Isopprpyl might work, nail polish remover should work. use an eye dropper to administer a little less than a drop let it sit for about ten seconds.

thats good advice...i never would have thought to use rubbing alcohol....i think we actually have that....i shall attempt this when my parents are at work tommorow....(or when they go to sleep....)

you think thats brilliant? me and a few buddies got a big co2 cart***** hooked it up 2 about 5 feet of steel wire mesh flexi pipe and with a 5 gallon bucket made an instant beer freezer... it chills your beer in under 30 seconds.. and i mean chills to the point of freezing the beer (wich is possible btw)

hell yeah i think its brilliant...portable, concealable weapon which could easily be taken on a plane.......(no, i dont intend to use it on a plane...but you never know what you might need...)

perhaps i will look for this design...it could help me get ideas on how to improve it....


alright...i made an improval on my design..i found a pen with a larger barrel, and i am now using that so that i can fire larger projectiles more accurately......of course the pen i found is a click pen thingy, so i now require an external fuel tank, but this is good in a way cuz i can use a larger fuel tank if need be....

im thinking i could use a film cannister with a hole in the lid.....right now i am using the cap from another pen, but i still cant find any fuel....(we dont even have any damn rubbing alcohol, and my lighter is a piece of shit...)

ya idk if u wanna put the pen through an xray unless it has all of the original parts in it until u use it

Why don't you just buy some friggin' axe? One can goes for about 4 bucks I think, but if your using small amounts(which I can't imagine why you'd need large ones) it should go a looong way.

cuz axe is pressurized...im looking for a fuel which is not pressurized cuz you cant exactly take pressurized cans on a plane and expect them not to explode.....

it has all the original parts still intact, and if i get a film cannister (currently a pen cap from another pen is my fuel can), the thing should be virtually undetectible...(film cannister is made of plastic...i dont even have to take it out of my pocket.....ammo is whatever i have around....(i dont exactly intend to use it, but im friggin paranoid....so why not have it just incase....goddamn terrorists arent destroying my plane.....)

interesting.....a bit more refined than my idea.....it gives me many ideas...but its a bit less portable (looks suspicious to have a pen attached to an empty tylenol bottle).....

i think i will make that one and use it regularly and save the other one for occasions where i need something a bit more portable....

....just thought i would add that hairspray doesnt make a very good fuel for it....(it wont vaporize)....ive tried everything i can think of to get it to vaporize....so i will have to find a new fuel....

yes, and so are the many things i cant seem to get ahold of...i have a friend down the street who i should be forcing to help me with my ideas...i also broke the pen again...gotta find a new one again....oh well..ive got alot of pens that i can use for it....

i made the gun from that link, the one with the tylenol bottle. though i used a larger tylenol bottle. i am very impressed with the guns power. i also used a bic pen for the barrel.

yeh...i like that design, but its less portable in my opinion....i will probably make it some time...it aparently can shoot like 50 feet easily if you get the fuel ratio right....i found another site that had it on it, and the comments by people who made it said it could do 50 feet with a q-tip.......

i think i am gonna be workin on a coke-can potato cannon now...i have around 6 coke cans i am gonna use, and i think i am gonna use something like a vault can as the projectile, as it would fit inside the coke cans and it is very strong, and i could fill it with some sort of explosive and make the rockets i tried to design before.....(assuming i can get it to work right first).....

50 feet bah i get at least 100 with a potato. i run mine on propane so i open the valve and count the input so everytime i get perfect mixture. when i first made the gun i shit it at the wall i was dissapointed second time i must have gotten a perfect ratio and i stupidly shot it at my foot holy shit it hurt left a nice bruise as well

yeah....i dont doubt you could get 100 ft easily....im pretty sure the people on the forum were using axe or something like that.....
