anyone know ways of getting into security cases, preferably the quickest and quietest way

heres an example of the one i'm having difficulty with...

the picture i found on the internet, i hope to get a better picture myself to share with you

They use them in tesco

anyone that knows links to how to open them or a website you can buy the box opener from would be much appreciated

i just realised the photo i found doesn't show much at all

so I'll give a brief outline of the case

they tag is inside the case unlike the photo above, it has a weird slide switch at the top that has metal locking it underneath

what really gets me is what the picture does show, at the top you can see circles, basically the lid is secured by them as well

really hard to explain with words, will have to get photos

here some better photos
when i went to the till i noticed the magnetic box that opens/takes off tags

i have a feeling if i get two magnets i could open the box, because the top of it would only fit one of those

I work in Electronics at a Sears and we have something like that. We just use a type of bar magnet, lay it across the top, and jiggle it to the right so the case lock opens.

a spike like pin goes through the hole. well if you will notice on your sears device the spike has a groove around it . inside the hole there are three steel balls that lock around that groove . thats where the magnetic counter device pull these ball locking devices back away from the spike just long enough to open the security device.. all others are similar...as for the swipe over the counter kind , that device is and electro magnet that has the opposite field wave which flexes these two small sheets of (*^&)(^) away from each other which disables the device

cheers for the replies

i don't know if electro magnetic's work differently to normal magnets, but i've got two hard drive magnets, will these work? tried it before but they were small magnets and maybe not strong enough

if it comes down to it i recon i could stamp the box and break it open when its noisy

Line a bag with tin foil. Make sure you make a perfect bag out of tin foil. Think a tin foil envelope. To test it put a cell phone in there and try and call it. This does work. I watched the store I worked at lose thousands of dollars a week to this method.

Glad to help, I fucking hated working there.

so that actually works, always thought it may be a myth or something to catch people out, does it have to be thick layering?

like if i got the box and wrapped about 4 layers around it in the store and walked out it would work?

cheers for the tip

What you need to do is make a Faraday cage.

A Faraday cage or Faraday shield is an enclosure formed by conducting material, or by a mesh of such material. Such an enclosure blocks out external static electrical fields. Faraday cages are named after physicist Michael Faraday, who built one in 1836.[citation needed]
An external static electrical field will cause the electrical charges within the conducting material to redistribute themselves so as to cancel the field's effects in the cage's interior. This effect is used, for example, to protect electronic equipment from lightning strikes and other electrostatic discharges.

Im sure if you had a jacket with a pocket big enough you can could make one out of copper mesh and be home free. Test it by putting your cellphone in it and try to call it.

Or why dont you go to walmart and shop lift. buy a game or dvd or somthing that will set off a detector (buy it) then take what you want, they check your bags and see the game/electonics in it then let you go( while you have the star wars collection in your pocket)

I would love to try it out but i really don't have the balls lol

i don't know how they do things in America but in the UK they keep all the disc's behind the counter and its just empty boxes on the self, which is why i want to learn how to get these because it's the first place i been that sells items on the shelf. To be fair i can see why, those boxes really do stop people from trying, but i'm just determined lol

be a piece of piss if it weren't for these boxes

You could go to all that trouble... OR you could just hand over the cash and get it that way? Lol, where I work, most of the game cases are empty so you have to go get the game from Home Entertainment before you bring it to the checkout... most people say "Oh, I just thought the game would be in there." Yeah... the store's really gonna leave a $60+ game just sitting in an unlocked case.

Most stores that sell them new and are large just have them in some sort of security case.

i have returned to tell you how i did it

i took the chase, went to the clothes section, dropped it on the floor, knocked a coat off a rail over it, and stamped on it a few times

the coat damped the snaping so you couldn't really hear it

Well, I'll definitely be using tin foil or copper from now on. I used to have my girlfriend buy a $10 DVD while I walked out with $100-200 worth of DVDs (Criterion Collection...yes.) When the buzzer went off they'd just wave us through.

ok if this is wal mart, its simple if you actually have object in your hand. have you ever noticed when you go to buy something it deactivates the magnetec strip in the box when its scaned? you can do this yourself. just get the game and go back to like automotive or sporting-goods, and you'll see a little pad with a crossed out hand on it. make sure no ones looking and lean over the counter like your looking for something. make sure that the game is over the pad and it beeps...MAKE SURE IT BEEPS. if it doesn't beep flip over the game and try again. if this still doesn't work i dont know what to tell you. after you have it deactivated stick it in your coat... go up and buy a pack of gum so you dont look suspicios and walk out. that sould do it. sorry about any spelling.

I have a good idea.
it requires a friend or two.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/401558/shoplifting_prank_dont_get_arrested/
Do this in your friends cart.(he wont get in trouble, if he didn't steal)
and you "don know him"
and walk away.(with your bag)(with the game)
