Hey, i was wondering if someone had plans for an EMP that worked. Ive looked some up on google, and i ended up frying my ass. Thank you for your time.

I have plans for one from a microwave... lemme look.

you know how to build an electro magnet right?

Yeah, i know how to build an electro magnet.

then build a big ass electromagnet. I'm talking hundreds of metres of copper wire around a big ass chunk of iron. then you need a big as motherfucking capacitor (ebay has many but make sure you get the biggest one you can) insert the capacitor between the magnet and the power source (on the circuit) and then install a cuircut breaker (a switch) on both sides of the capacitor.
that was a very quick and very vauge description of a crude EMP device, so i recomend you do some more comprehensive research into the matter before you electrocute your ass, or fry every electronic device in your houose, or have your fillings ripped out of your head.

or have your fillings ripped out of your head.
That's always fun.

i have built a real powerful one before and it fried almost everything in my house. i had to get a new computer, new tv, new cellphone, new just about everything electronic. but i don't have it anymore i scrapped it for parts, i wish i still had it i could have posted pictures
PS: i'll try to find my designs and post them

seeing as your 14 i highly doubt that ever happened

look i really did make it i don't really care if you believe me or not but i will post the designs and plans if i still have them

Twenglish lies like a Demokrat.
Maybe it would be more interesting/cooler/fitting (whatever your attempting to prove) If you just did it, and emp shocked walmart, and linked us the news story or something.
Pussy.

clearly you do care if we believe you or you wouldn't have posted it in the first place

Not necessarily true Nume...
I openly express my love of anal play, but I do';t care what anyone thinks about it.

im going to rebuild it and i will make a new tread and post pics and schematics and how i built my capacitors

Do you want me to? Aw...but I like walmart.
Oh, numerator-91, do you know how to direct the EMP pulse? Would i just use a lead lined box with a side missing from it?. And thank you all for you time and help. :D
twenglish1
November 2nd, 2008, 10:55 AM
you can direct the the emp discharge with a metal bowl. like put the big electromagnet in the middle of the bowl and the discharge will come out of the bowl only in the direction it is facing
BurnDown
November 2nd, 2008, 11:21 AM
Hm....thank you. Ill give it a try.
numerator-91
November 2nd, 2008, 04:45 PM
it's not so much a an eletromagnetic pulse as a really brief electromagnetic field. and as for directing the forces i would't choose another magnetic material

Is something that jams frequency similar?

........ motherfucking capacitor (ebay has many but make sure you get the biggest one you can) insert the capacitor between the magnet and the power source (on the circuit) and then install a cuircut breaker (a switch) on both sides of the capacitor.
Or you could buy a shitload of 1 farad caps and hook 'em up in parallel....

that too. .

or (a little more involved) you can make your own capacitors. i made mine with a five gallon bucket. i filled it with water tied some heavy duty wire around the outside. drilled a hole in the lid put a big ass bolt in the top and tied a wire on it going into the water. these things will store(and release) a shit load of power

ok, so, if i do this, am i going to get fryed...I've already done that 2 times, and its getting anoying...lol. But i like the build it yourself idea. Thanks.
twenglish1
November 4th, 2008, 05:33 PM
you won't get fried unless you touch the charged capacitor, and if you charge it enough it will possibly kill you
BurnDown
November 4th, 2008, 06:53 PM
thats nice to know....lol. glad i didn't touch it. Thanks by the way.

yah before i made one with the 5 gallon bucket i made a smaller one with a film canister and i got about 1000 volts out of it(damn that hurt)

So...has anyone found plans to make one from a microwave? I have an old microwave that's just sitting there, and i dont know what to do with it. Why not make something usefull out of it..right? Or just blow the shit out of it. lol. Thank you.

The basic principle of an EMP-weapon is simple; you have to generate a magnetic field that send a huge pulse flying through the air. Basically, you'll need a giant electromagnet, in which a huge amount of energy is released at once. Electronics aren't my strongest point, but I'm guessing you don't have the money to buy something even remotely close to what you need to build a working EMP-weapon. Like said before, you'd probably end up destroying the wiring in your parents' house.

you could probably use parts from a microwave but im not sure i used my old microwave to make a welder. here is where i learned how: http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Microwave-Transformer-Homemade-Welder/

I bought and old 386 computer off ebay,
Added on 6 12volt power supplies with a copper converter.
(Stacked like bricks ontop of the computer like bricks)
(With a car battery next to the computer)
Hook battery negative clamp to the base of the computer console.
Console box must be the old metal kind.
Place the positive clamp on the power cord going into the wall just next to the outlet. (Make sure it doesnt pierce the rubber protector or it will fail)
Set the computer to power on when room lights go on.
When the light switch is turned on in the room the two power sources will collide on the board and the currents will create an electro burst that will knock out everything with in the house.
Best place to do it is in the basement.
(I know it works because my neighbor threw a hissy fit at me for setting it up outside his garage door and he turned on the outside lights at night)
-his cellphones and other devices were fried-

if you had the money to do it you could build a big ass electromagnet inside of a tractor trailer rig and just drive it through town ha ha!

Emps sound hard to make :P

yah they are really simple but its difficult to get the right parts and generate that much power(i have built one before i would know)

well, i'll tell you, the trick to an electromagnetic pulse weapon, is that it needs IMMENSELY thick copper wire. i'm talking 6-8 gauge, because the amp/hours you're going to be consuming is going to be very high and very fast, so you need something thats going to offer resistance that's almost immeasurable. should also probably be suspended in an electrolyte, and might as well make a hydrogen fuel cell so it's rechargable while your at it.... they look pretty sweet if you've ever seen one with clear sides. too bad hydrogen cells need a platinum catalyst, most of them use slightly cheaper platinum coated nickel wire... well, we are on anarchist's cookbook... just go steal a catalytic converter.

Lol, thank you. Platinum isn't hard to come by right now for me..lol. Thank you again. As for the emp in the back of a big truck..kick ass idea..but wouldn't it fry the battery in the truck? Thanks for your time. Please keep the ideas coming.

where can you get platinum wire i have been looking for it, i wanted to make a fuel cell

Did you try omega.com? they have some pretty interesting things on there. Fule cell? sounds interesting. I have sucesfully built one emp generator, and fryed my cell phone. Im pissed. I also shocked myself again..hurt like hell. Thanks for all of your help!

to burndown and twenglish1. It sounds like you guys have both been successful with building a device. What are you waiting for? Post plans.

Ill have to make some improvements on my model before I post any plans for this. When I made it if you remember me saying that i shocked the crap out of myself. That actually hurt....a lot. Give me a little more time, and ill post it when I have made improvements.
P.S, If anyone knows where i can get a huge compacter besides eBay, I'm open to suggestions.
Thank You For Your Time :D

Anything new? Also, I was wondering if this kind of technology can be scaled down?
I think numerator said i would need highly skilled technicians and scientists to do it, but i think he may have misunderstood. What if you make a small emp device, like pocket size, but along with it the power is also decreased. It would only work if you hold it right up against a watch or something. That way if the technology works in a smaller version, I could build it without having to buy as much material and then figure out any kinks and start building big. I'm also scared of killing myself, so it might not be as much of a problem with a small emp.
