So from the convo somewhere else i forget exactly. But Seems that the Books are more better then the Movie. So many reasons why, but you kno i dont think its always true.
But maybe seeing the movie or readint he book before the other, makes you favor that one. So thought here we could discuss Book vs. Movie.
Like Breakfast at Tiffany's. I saw the movie 1st, loves it, but then i read the book, and while the book is pretty awesome i still think the movie was better. and this has been my only exception. So curious to here what others think bout other Books to Movies.
I cant think of one to start off with. have a headache i'll add something later.

Hmm...I don't know many book-movie comparisons but I did read the first harry potter book and I liked it more than the movie. I also read about 3/4 of the Da Vinci Code but ended up losing the book so I went and saw the movie. Book was better.

Aaah Itsa... Breakfast at Tiffany's, the book was wayy better than the movie!! Don't kid yourself. :p
As for the Harry Potter Movies... way screwed up. Books were a ton better. The movies had messed up characters (harry should have black not brown hair, green not blue eyes, and the scar should be in the middle) and ruined some of the plot time lines.

The Cirque du Freak movie comes out early next year. 1st 3 books in the 1st movie, if it does well they'll do the others. Darren Shan (the author) said they stayed pretty true to the book, so i look foward to seeing it.

Utterly agree, they raped the Eragon franchise, Prison-Style.
Majority of the books kick the movie's ass only because of lazy directors, most of them flip through the book and say, "I wanna make a movie outta this", the only director I actually like and did the whole make a movie outta book thing was Peter Jackson. The rest are nobodies tryin' to go with the big leagues like Jackson and Tarantino....kinda sad that cinema and literature have to collide like this, just for some director to try to be worth a damn.

I usually prefer movies over books, but I usually prefer performing arts (acting/music) over anything else.

books are always better then the movies/miniseries take dune, frank herberts master peice for example they mushed messiah and and children into one movie and called it children of dune although they cut some of the most important details of the attempted assassination of the kids and other thing that im to lazy to discuss.
my point is books always better then movies

Finally stop procrastinating to do this...
So i have read the first three books Idenity, Supremacy, Ultimatim and whatever and there are like 4 more or so after those but i havent read them yet. But so pretty much you have to admit the movies kick ass. But the books soooo much more detail and story lines and the plot is way thicker. So yea you dont really get to see the action like in the movies like crazy jumping through windows, but in the books its gives like his background, pieces of how is life was before, how he got to where he is, and why and soooo much more then in the movies, the most the movie do is sort or SORT! of follow where he goes like from italy to paris then to where ever.
But yea the movies rocked but def books are much much more fun to read.

Books to movies suck because the filmmakers cannot create the image you had in your mind as you read the book.

Have to agree with most of you, books are a lot better than their movie adaptations.
Personally, I love the detail that books give, and with movies so much of the storyline is generally lost that if you have read the book you will find the movie horrible.
Harry Potter movies for example. As the books got longer, the movies started missing out more and more events, which made them progressively more crap.
