Lars isn't in there for talent, but in there for sheer creativity. Have you heard his beats, listen to Am I Evil? by Metallica, badass song if ya haven't heard it. The only album which lacks his creativity is St. Anger, and the only thing good on that album was Hetfield's vocals to be frank.

Actually, there's like 3 drummers for Slipknot. But Joey is lead, so I assume that's who you meant. And yes, he's kick-ass.

tomas haake.
gene for creativity.
George and derek for speed (especially george. youtube george kollias and click the second one and listen about halfway through).
Tomas though. he is amazing. seriously, meshuggah's drummer is the single most overall (in my opinion) fastest (OVERALL DAMMIT), most creative and by far the most technical. in technicality he takes the cake as the most difficult to drum drummer. seriously. he can drum 4/4 with his hands and 9/11 (? I think it's 9/11?) with his feet at the same time. different time signatures at the same time?!?!?! OMG
but seriously I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in
