to get an ip address from msn you need to direct connect with the victim
make sure you have as few running programs as possible to avoid confusion
go to command prompt
start>run>cmd
then type netstat -n
get the person to accept a file from you
make a new command prompt window
then netstat -n
the new ip will be the victim's

Davey, there are an ip address alone is no means for attack. But it definitely plays a vital role in many menus. Actually, if they are running a windows 98 or maybe even 2000, you can ping their computer and shut them down. You could also scan for open ports.

basically it is just knowing thier address
but if it is a dynamic ip you will have to get it each time

You can utilize an IP sniffer. It is the same process as getting a password through the internet. The computers must be in some form of communication, so i would say talk to them on the internet while doing this. Be sure to run an IP bouncer software if your serious about this so you can not be tracked. I have heard of ways you can find the Ip address by using Google. I have experimented with finding my own ip to see if it works and i did not succeed.

Ok, IP address are not very esay to get if ur looking for a certain computer now if u dont care what computer u get just in a certain area that's a lot esayer. The way a internet provider assingings IPs is by area you can find the aera on lines like certant digit codes, kinda like area codes. To find a certant computer if u have to send or recive info from its network, like file transfer or something along those lines. Or you can reroute an e-mail forsay and get it that way. With that info u just need to communicate with them. How ever you do it its pretty easy. Oh after u communicate with them jsut ping them and that should give u the IP.

Whatever you say, 98.117.140.137... Lol, you are such a retard, seriously. Anyways, I could probably get more info real quick. Let's see, seattle, washington. Nice.

You people think an IP address is like some magic number which allows you to hack somebody's computer. How are you supposed to capture keystrokes from just knowing somebody's IP addres? You are not connected to them in any way, and there is such a thing as security. It's like saying that by knowing somebody's postal address, you can just instantly read all their mail. It is not possible. The majority of home users use firewalls and routers, making it impossible to exploit the services and server programs they run

so your saying a router makes breaking into a computer impossible? no way? why doesnt everyone have one then hack would pretty much be over right? no more taking down sites, sniffing anything, wow your a genius.

This google im, was it in your web browser?

Yeah, it runs through their web-based email service and lets you IM people who are using AIM through it

Then it wouldn't work, this works based on what ip's have a connection to your computer. But since you are using a web application (google cloud computing, ftw!) Then it will only show the website server ip address, and any new connections would be created on that, which you would not be able to scan.

I tried the IP sniffer, then used "http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp" Here's what i got:
207.46.124.215| US |UNITED STATES | CALIFORNIA | SAN JOSE | MICROSOFT CORP

So it's obvious the data is sent through Microsoft, so no IP = (
I haven't tried the first method yet, i'll try it now.

EDIT:
Tried it, this is what i got:
64.4.9.31 |US | UNITED STATES | OHIO | LEWIS CENTER | MS HOTMAIL
58.107.176.74 | AU | AUSTRALIA | QUEENSLAND | ROCKHAMPTON | OPTUS INTERNET - RETAIL
70.37.159.209 | US |UNITED STATES | WASHINGTON | REDMOND | MICROSOFT CORPORATION

Inconclusive, because the adresses were way wrong, the guy i tested on lives around the corner from me. So, again, no IP =(
I think it's the new version of messenger, this would work on the old probably. I might try another similar method on a different program.
