Negatorrrr. Not hardcore, any of those. ESPECIALLY throwdown, slipknot, static x, mudvayne... well all of them. That's all more like styles of metal.

fuck genres

and i think it's funny that superfly and phoenix put some hardcore punk bands in there.

course i listen to all that shit, but classifying music past a certain point is dumb. basic genres are okay but the amount of subgenres (especially when it comes to metal) is just retarded

I know, the subgenres underneath Punk (which I would put hardcore underneath it, if it originated from anything its punk) and Metal (especially metal for the love of all things holy) are ridicoulus. But they're needed, they seperate the kind of music the bands are playing. So I think they're pretty neccessary, and I hate when bands get strewn into genres they don't belong in.

P.s. Cheetzzz - your the hotness!

There's even subgenres for hardcore too. Metalcore, deathcore, thrashcore, nintendocore, mathcore, grindcore, etc. etc.

Yeah, the list goes on and on. I think they get out of hand; people get excessive. Nintendocore? When I heard that I laughed.

Metalcore, deathcore, thrashcore, grindcore.. are probably the most legit and popular. You don't need to really break it down into tiny little specs of grey area on the hardcore scene you know?

If you like mathcore, I'd suggest War From a Harlot's Mouth and Arsonists Get All the Girls, if you haven't already heard of them. Two of the most legit mathcore bands around.

throwdown's older stuff is metalcore/groove metal

and slipknot has some hardcore influences, although I wouldn't call them hardcore. Ever.

Fuck, at least they have good shows even if they suck themselves, I love setting a Wall of Death to them if it's at the Valarium, literally 90% of the floor turns.
